Your Mission

As Team Lead Compliance you are responsible for leading and enhancing Bitpanda’s compliance framework and ensuring compliance with MiCAR, MiFID II, and related EU financial services regulations. Acting as a strategic partner to senior management and as part of the second line of defense, you drive regulatory implementation, oversee compliance risk management, and support the compliant growth of Bitpanda’s crypto-asset and investment services business.

What You'll Do

• Lead and enhance compliance frameworks under MiFID II and MiCAR, including monitoring activities, risk assessments, and control structures.
• Manage and mentor a team of compliance professionals, fostering a high-performance environment and a strong compliance culture.
• Drive regulatory change initiatives, supervisory reviews, audits, and direct interactions with competent regulatory authorities.
• Oversee market conduct and surveillance, including investor protection frameworks and market abuse monitoring.
• Provide compliance-by-design advice for new products and business initiatives, partnering closely with Legal, Risk, Product, and Engineering.
  
  

Who You Are

• Experienced professional with 7+ years of compliance experience in financial services, fintech, or crypto, alongside a degree in Law, Finance, or Business.
• Regulatory expert in MiCAR and MiFID II, with a strong advantage in market abuse prevention, trade surveillance, and market conduct controls.
• Proven leader with a track record of managing compliance teams and navigating complex stakeholder relationships.
• Skilled in oversight with hands-on experience in regulatory implementation, compliance monitoring, and supervisory interactions.
• Pragmatic thinker who easily translates complex regulations into practical business solutions, with full fluency in English and German.
