Kōrero mō te tūranga - About the Role: We are seeking a capable and motivated Team Leader, Field Technician to lead our Lower North Island Field Technician team and support the delivery of OSPRI’s TB Testing Programme. Reporting to the Head of On Farm Services, you will provide leadership, coaching and operational oversight for our Field Technicians. You’ll be responsible for ensuring high-quality service delivery, workforce planning, performance management and training while maintaining a strong focus on health, safety and customer outcomes. In this this role, you’ll play a key part in ensuring testing activities are delivered safely, efficiently and to a consistently high standard. You’ll work closely with stakeholders across OSPRI and the wider agricultural sector, bringing valuable operational insights that support programme success. What success will look like: Leading, coaching and developing a team of Field Technicians across multiple locations Monitoring team performance and ensuring quality standards are consistently achieved Managing regional testing schedules and workforce planning to optimise resources Leading recruitment, onboarding, training and accreditation activities Conducting competency assessments and ensuring accreditation requirements are maintained Providing operational and policy advice to support programme delivery Identifying trends and opportunities for continuous improvement Building strong relationships with farmers, contractors and internal stakeholders Supporting field operations and undertaking on-farm testing activities when required Championing health, safety and wellbeing across the team Acting as a key communication link between field teams and senior leadership Contributing to successful programme delivery through effective planning, leadership and collaboration Proven ability to make decisions in the best interests of the organisation, confidently address challenging situations and conversations, and take ownership for outcomes rather than avoid difficult decisions.
