Technical Lead – Java

Overview We are looking for an experienced Java Technical Lead with a strong background in IT services and enterprise application development. The ideal candidate should have led development teams delivering fixed-cost projects and possess excellent technical, architectural, and leadership capabilities. Banking and financial services domain experience is highly preferred. Responsibilities Lead the design, development, and delivery of enterprise-grade Java applications. Drive technical solutioning and architecture discussions with customers and internal stakeholders. Lead a team of developers, conduct code reviews, and ensure adherence to coding standards and best practices. Break down requirements into technical designs, effort estimates, and development plans. Participate in project estimation, planning, and risk identification, especially for fixed-price engagements. Ensure timely delivery while maintaining high quality standards. Troubleshoot complex technical issues and guide the team in resolving production challenges. Collaborate closely with Project Managers, Business Analysts, QA teams, and client stakeholders. Mentor developers and help build technical capabilities within the team. Continuously improve engineering practices, DevOps adoption, automation, and code quality. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field. Essential skills Strong expertise in Java (Java 8/11/17), Spring Boot, Spring Framework, REST APIs, Microservices. Hands-on experience with Hibernate/JPA. Experience with relational databases such as Oracle, SQL Server, or PostgreSQL. Strong understanding of distributed systems and enterprise application architecture. Experience with messaging technologies like Kafka or RabbitMQ. Knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP) is preferred. Strong understanding of Git, Maven/Gradle, SonarQube, and Jenkins. Desired skills Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication and stakeholder management. Banking/Financial Services domain experience is highly preferred.
