PURPOSE As the Technical Product Manager (TPM) for OptiDescent, you are responsible for the successful definition, delivery, launch, and operational evolution of the OptiDescent module within the OptiFlight suite. You act as the bridge between Product Management, Engineering, Operations, Delivery, Customer Success, and Commercial teams, ensuring the module delivers measurable customer value and can be deployed, supported, monitored, and scaled effectively. You own the module's product definition, delivery roadmap, operational requirements, backlog prioritization, business methodology, and stakeholder alignment. This is a hands-on product role combining Product Management and Product Ownership responsibilities, including backlog ownership, user story definition, acceptance criteria, technical requirement clarification, and close day-to-day collaboration with engineering. You are the recognized subject matter expert for your module and support customer engagements, business development activities, product launches, and strategic planning initiatives. Key Responsibilities Product Definition & Module Ownership Own the end-to-end product definition of OptiDescent. Translate OptiFlight strategy into module-specific objectives, roadmap initiatives, and delivery plans. Define product capabilities, limitations, assumptions, dependencies, and operational expectations. Maintain module documentation and ensure clarity of product scope across all stakeholders. Ensure alignment between product requirements, customer needs, operational constraints, and engineering feasibility. Act as the primary product authority for OptiDescent across the organization. Delivery Roadmap & Execution Define and maintain the OptiDescent delivery roadmap. Prioritize features, technical enablers, quality improvements, and operational readiness activities. Coordinate cross-functional delivery efforts across Engineering, Operations, Data Science, Customer Delivery, and Product teams. Identify dependencies, risks, and mitigation plans to support successful product delivery. Track roadmap execution and provide regular progress updates to leadership and stakeholders. Drive launch readiness activities and support post-launch monitoring and continuous improvement. Product Ownership & Agile Delivery Own and prioritize the product backlog. Define user stories, acceptance criteria, and detailed requirements. Work closely with engineering teams to clarify requirements and validate delivered capabilities. Participate in sprint planning, backlog refinement, sprint reviews, and retrospectives. Support release planning and prioritization decisions. Ensure delivered features meet customer, operational, and business requirements. Operational Readiness & Delivery Model Define and maintain the operating model for OptiDescent. Define operational processes for deployment, monitoring, model maintenance, incident management, and customer onboarding. Ensure operational teams have the documentation, training, and tools required to support the product. Cross-Functional Alignment Contribute to the alignment across OptiFlight modules, ensuring consistency of user experience, business logic, and product direction. Support sales enablement, product positioning, and early commercial ramp-up of the product. Work closely with Product Management, Operations, Engineering, Data Science, Customer Delivery, and Commercial teams. Qualifications WHO YOU ARE 7+ years of experience in Product Management, Technical Product Management, Product Ownership, Solution Engineering, or related roles. Experience in aviation software, flight operations, flight planning, performance engineering, or fuel-efficiency optimization. Understanding of aircraft performance, aerodynamics, EFB solutions, and operational airline processes. Experience working in Agile software development environments. Ability to translate complex technical concepts into business value and actionable product requirements. Strong stakeholder management and cross-functional leadership skills. Proven experience coordinating delivery across engineering, operations, and business teams. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
