Technical Writer - Active Top Secret Clearance

Location: Hybrid (3 days/week in Reston, VA) Clearance: Active Top Secret (eligible for SCI with CI Poly) Employment Type: Full-time Salary: $70,000/yr.–$90,000/yr. Description We are seeking a highly detail-oriented Technical Writer to support a large Intelligence Community environment. This role focuses on translating complex technical and operational concepts into clear, structured, and compliant documentation for proposals, programs, and communications. The ideal candidate combines strong writing expertise with the ability to structure, format, and visually present information in alignment with government RFP requirements. This role requires close collaboration with proposal teams, program managers, and technical SMEs to ensure high-quality, accurate, and compelling deliverables. Responsibilities Technical Documentation & Communication: Develop, edit, and maintain technical documents that clearly communicate complex information to diverse stakeholders within the Intelligence Community. Proposal Support: Collaborate with proposal and program teams to develop, format, and refine proposal content while ensuring compliance with RFP requirements. Editing & Quality Assurance: Perform rigorous editing, proofreading, and peer reviews to ensure clarity, consistency, and error-free documentation. Content Structuring & Formatting: Design and format documents, integrating text and visuals into cohesive, professional deliverables aligned with client standards. Visualization Development: Create diagrams and visual aids (e.g., workflows, architectures) to enhance technical understanding. Template & Style Management: Develop and maintain templates, style guides, and standardized formats for proposals and technical materials. Process Support: Assist in documenting and improving internal proposal and documentation processes. Repository Management: Maintain awareness of prior proposal materials and support the organization and reuse of approved content.
