Ready to shape the future of resilient communities? Verdantas is seeking an Environmental Scientist II to join our Florida team. In this role, you will support a variety of environmental projects by performing advanced technical work, analyzing complex data, reviewing technical reports, and collaborating with project teams to deliver high-quality solutions for our clients. The successful candidate will have strong technical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to effectively manage assignments both independently and in a team environment. What You'll Do: Conduct advanced field and laboratory tests on construction materials, structures, and systems Perform inspections and assessments of projects to ensure compliance with specifications and standards Collect, analyze, and interpret data from tests and inspections Prepare detailed technical reports and documentation of findings Operate and maintain advanced field and laboratory equipment Assist in the development and implementation of project plans and protocols Provide technical support and guidance to junior staff and team members Participate in quality control and quality assurance programs Communicate findings and recommendations to the Project Manager/Supervisor Follow all safety guidelines and procedures What You'll Bring: High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree or technical training preferred 2+ years of experience in environmental, geotechnical, or construction-related fieldwork Familiarity with field sampling techniques, soil and groundwater testing, and use of field instruments Ability to read and interpret plans and specifications Comfortable working outdoors in varying conditions and lifting equipment as needed Strong attention to detail and commitment to accurate data collection and documentation Knowledge of health and safety protocols and ability to follow established procedures Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with engineers and project managers Flexibility to travel to project sites and adapt to changing schedules Salary Range: The starting salary for this position is $28.00 per hour, with final compensation determined based on qualifications and licensing status.
