Power Solutions Engineer (AC/DC Telecom Infrastructure)
Location: Raleigh, NC (Hybrid)
Schedule: Onsite 3 days per week in downtown Raleigh
Travel: Up to 5% for site visits and project implementations
Contract Length: 12 Months

While Raleigh-based candidates are preferred, candidates located within the Carolinas East territory may also be considered, including areas surrounding Raleigh, Wilmington, and Florence, with the ability to travel to Raleigh as needed. Relocation candidates are welcome to apply.

About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Senior Power Solutions Engineer to support the design, implementation, and optimization of critical AC and DC power systems that enable telecommunications infrastructure. This role is ideal for an engineer with deep expertise in 48V DC battery plant systems, UPS systems, battery monitoring solutions, and telecom power infrastructure.
As part of a highly collaborative engineering team, you will lead the delivery of complex power solutions from design through deployment while ensuring reliability, scalability, and operational excellence. The successful candidate will be a self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced environment and can work independently while supporting Agile-based engineering initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
• Design and engineer AC and DC power solutions for telecommunications infrastructure.
• Plan, implement, test, and document power systems and related network infrastructure components.
• Support the deployment and maintenance of:
o 48V DC battery plant systems
o UPS systems
o Battery monitoring systems
o Environmental and alarm monitoring systems
o Grounding systems
• Develop and improve operational processes to enable Tier 1 and Tier 2 support teams.
• Provide Tier 3 technical support and troubleshooting for complex power-related issues.
• Participate in site assessments, implementations, and system validation activities.
• Collaborate with engineering teams and business stakeholders to develop reliable power solutions that meet operational requirements.
• Create and maintain technical documentation, standards, and engineering designs.
Required Qualifications
• Associate's degree, Bachelor's degree, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Minimum of 6 years of relevant experience in telecom power engineering or related infrastructure engineering.
• Strong experience designing and delivering:
o AC and DC power systems
o 48V DC battery plants
o UPS systems
o Battery monitoring solutions
• Experience with telecom infrastructure power systems and rack-mounted power environments.
• Knowledge of grounding systems, environmental monitoring, and alarm systems.
• Basic understanding of:
o TCP/IP networking
o Routing and switching concepts
• Ability to work independently and manage projects with minimal supervision.
Preferred Qualifications
• Utility industry experience.
• Experience supporting telecommunications infrastructure within large enterprise environments.
• Scripting, programming, or network automation experience.
• Familiarity with Agile engineering methodologies.

The ideal candidate has hands-on engineering experience with 48V DC battery plants and telecom power systems, not just installation or field technician experience.
