Position Summary
Telemed+ is seeking an experienced General Practitioner (GP) or Internal Medicine Specialist holding a valid Greek medical licence to join our remote telemedicine team.
The successful candidate will provide remote medical consultations and emergency medical support to vessels globally, working alongside a Registered Nurse during each shift. The role requires excellent clinical judgment, strong communication skills, and the ability to work independently while following established clinical protocols and company Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
This position consists of 10 scheduled 24-hour shifts per month.
Key Responsibilities
Clinical Duties
- Provide 24/7 remote medical consultations for crew members onboard vessels.
- Assess, triage and manage acute and non-acute medical conditions via telemedicine.
- Provide emergency medical guidance to vessels during medical incidents.
- Support onboard medical personnel and captains in the management of medical emergencies.
- Make evidence-based clinical decisions while working within telemedicine limitations.
- Escalate cases appropriately when evacuation or specialist consultation is required.
- Ensure all clinical decisions prioritize the health, safety and wellbeing of crew members.
Preventive & Occupational Health
- Perform Pre-Employment Medical Examination (PEME) evaluations.
- Participate in the Medical Warnings Project.
- Contribute to proactive health initiatives aimed at improving crew wellbeing.
- Participate in the development and implementation of medical guidance documents and health campaigns, including but not limited to:
- Malaria prevention and mitigation
- MPOX prevention and mitigation
- Infectious disease prevention
- Vaccination guidance
- Heat stress prevention
- Lifestyle and wellness initiatives
Documentation & Administration
- Maintain complete, accurate and timely medical records.
- Upload clinical data and documentation to the company's medical platform.
- Complete all required medical documentation, reports and certificates.
- Manage electronic patient medical files in accordance with company procedures.
- Ensure full compliance with GDPR and medical confidentiality requirements.
Operational Responsibilities
- Work collaboratively with the Registered Nurse assigned to each shift.
- Maintain effective communication with vessels, clients and internal teams.
- Strictly follow all company SOPs, clinical protocols and policies.
- Participate in clinical audits, quality improvement activities and operational projects.
- Remain available and responsive throughout the entire scheduled shift.
- Maintain access to company equipment (laptop and mobile phone) at all times while on duty.
- Participate in meetings, training sessions and continuous professional development activities.
- Adapt to new SOPs, policies and operational responsibilities as introduced by the company.
Required Qualifications
- Medical Degree (MD or equivalent).
- Specialisation in General Practice/Family Medicine or Internal Medicine.
- Valid licence to practise medicine in Greece.
- Minimum 5 years of post-qualification clinical experience.
- Current Advanced Life Support (ALS) certification (ERC, AHA or equivalent).
- Excellent spoken and written English (minimum C1 level or equivalent proficiency).
- Strong knowledge of tropical, travel-related and regional infectious diseases.
- Experience in emergency medicine, urgent care or acute care is highly desirable.
- Previous telemedicine or maritime medicine experience is considered a strong advantage.

Operational Requirements
The successful candidate must:
- Be available for 10 scheduled 24-hour shifts per month.
- Remain fully accessible throughout each scheduled shift.
- Have access to reliable high-speed internet.
- Maintain uninterrupted access to the company laptop and mobile phone during all shifts.
- Work from a secure, quiet and confidential environment suitable for telemedicine consultations.
- Comply with all GDPR requirements and information security policies.
- Maintain all required professional registrations and certifications.
Preferred Qualifications
- Maritime or offshore medical experience.
- Diploma or certification in Tropical Medicine or Travel Medicine.
- ATLS, PHTLS or ACLS certifications in addition to ALS.
- Experience with occupational health or remote medicine.
- Experience managing multicultural patient populations.
- Familiarity with maritime medical guidelines and international health regulations.
