🇬🇧United Kingdom🏢Hybrid💰£42.0K📁Healthcare/Clinical
Is this job info correct?

Hybrid working | Up to three days face to face | Remainder home based Salary £ 42,000 per annum Behind every assessment is a person who deserves to feel heard and understood. At Advo Health, part of the Cortera Health Group, we support people at important moments in their lives. We deliver clinically led health assessment services with fairness, compassion and clinical integrity at their heart. As a Functional Assessor, you will use your healthcare experience in a new way. You will listen to people, understand how their health affects their everyday life and use your clinical judgement to produce clear, evidence based assessments. If you are ready for a change from hands on clinical practice but still want your experience to have purpose, this could be an exciting next step in your career. The role As a Functional Assessor, you will speak with people who are applying for health related benefits and explore how physical or mental health conditions affect their daily life, independence and ability to complete everyday activities. Through face to face, telephone and video consultations, you will ask relevant questions, consider the available clinical evidence and use your professional judgement to build a clear and balanced picture of each person's individual circumstances. You will then produce an accurate assessment report that helps inform the benefit decision. You will not diagnose, provide treatment or make the final decision about whether someone receives a benefit. Depending on your professional background and experience, you will work within either Personal Independence Payment (PIP) assessments or Work Capability Assessments (WCA). Our Talent Team will help identify which area is best suited to your experience. What your working week will look like This is a hybrid role, with approximately 60% of your time spent completing face to face assessments from an assessment centre and 40% working from home. Your working day will include a planned number of consultations alongside dedicated time to complete reports and administration. You will work within a structured working week, with no evening or weekend shifts, giving you greater predictability while continuing to build your healthcare career. What you will be doing • Holding professional and compassionate consultations with people from a wide range of backgrounds • Assessing how physical and mental health conditions affect everyday activities and independence • Using your clinical knowledge and professional judgement to understand each person's individual circumstances • Reviewing relevant information and clinical evidence • Producing clear, accurate and evidence based assessment reports • Using specialist computer systems while listening, questioning and documenting information effectively • Working with your manager and clinical colleagues to develop your knowledge and assessment skills Who we are looking for We welcome applications from healthcare professionals with at least 12 months of post registration experience, including: • Registered Nurses, including Adult Nurses, Mental Health Nurses and Learning Disability Nurses • Physiotherapists • Occupational Therapists • Paramedics • Pharmacists You will need full registration with the relevant professional regulatory body for your profession. You will be confident communicating with people about sensitive and sometimes complex circumstances, comfortable using computer systems and able to combine strong written communication with sound clinical judgement. Training and career development We know that moving into a different area of healthcare can feel like a big career decision. You will not be expected to know the role from day one. You will receive comprehensive paid training followed by ongoing clinical and management support as you build your confidence and become fully accredited. As your career develops, there are opportunities to progress into areas including team management, clinical coaching, training and quality assurance. Salary and benefits • Salary £ 42,000 per annum • Bonus of up to 10% of salary once fully accredited • Annual salary reviews • Professional membership fees covered • 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays • Hybrid working • No evening or weekend shifts • Comprehensive paid training • Ongoing clinical and management support • Career development opportunities • Free physiotherapy and wellbeing services • Employee discounts and rewards • Charity time gifting Ready for something different? You have spent your career developing clinical knowledge, professional judgement and the ability to understand people when they need support. As a Functional Assessor, those skills continue to matter, just in a different way. If you are looking for a new challenge, greater structure in your working week and an opportunity to build a different kind of healthcare career, we would love to hear from you. We are committed to an inclusive recruitment process and welcome applications from all backgrounds, including people with disabilities. If you require reasonable adjustments at any stage, please let our Talent Team know. This position is advertised as full time. We also welcome applications from candidates interested in part time hours, with a minimum of three days per week. Apply today and discover where your clinical experience could take you next.
