Job Title: WeDiB National Organizer Type (Temporary or Permanent; Full-Time or Part-Time): Temporary Full-Time Start and end dates: Start as soon as possible; end October 23, 2026 Reports to: Allison Julien FLSA Status (Exempt/Non-Exempt): Non Exempt Work State Location: Remote Bargaining Unit Position (Yes /No) : No If Yes, what Job Family does it fall under?: Organizer I Salary: $35.72 Position Summary: The purpose of the position is to grow a robust base of remote Black domestic workers who can lead our movement while developing leadership and increasing the skill set of emerging leaders to uplift and address the issues faced by domestic workers in the workplace. Will work closely with the We Dream in Black Director to build a thriving community to elevate the voices, stories, experiences and demands of Black domestic workers in NDWA and other movement campaigns. Primarily virtual engagement with some quarterly in-person member mobilizations for local gatherings and national/regional gatherings as needed. Primary Roles & Responsibilities: Grow a base of domestic workers with a specific focus on the home care industry who can lead a movement for a new economy and a new democracy Build leadership and increase the skill set of emerging leaders to uplift and address the issues faced by domestic workers. Build a thriving community and elevate the voices and demands of Black domestic workers fighting for protection and recognition Engage and deepen home care workers’ connection to NDWA Support in providing an organizing container for home care workers I. Main Priority (50% of FTE) Build We Dream in Black base of remote workers to ensure they are making an impact in our overall national work and campaigns and continue developing Black domestic workers Base Building Communication with domestic workers across the country Schedule regular 1:1’s and phone follow-ups with members to identify potential workers with interest for deep engagement and leadership Tracking & Reporting Maintain effective data tracking systems and reporting Track worker engagement and development using our current database system Maintain regular communication with domestic workers via group chats, text and calls Integrate new remote Black workers contacts into WeDiB programs II. 2nd Priority (25% of FTE) Build worker power and support their leadership through programming to develop their skills and competencies to educate and grow the base. As a result of this work, we will develop local and national domestic worker leaders and deepen their connection to the movement. Program Implementation Support and cofacilitate Monday Night Live and WeDiB Orientation Support on We Dream in Black Organizing Institute, provide support with facilitation, and steering committee facilitation Coordinate with Organizers on upcoming meetings/events/activities Leadership Development Coordinate language justice, digital and tech support as needed for programming Support member spokespeople for media requests & leadership opportunities III. 3RD Priority (15% of FTE) NDWA is working towards building a home care worker base and engaging home care workers in our various care programs and campaigns at a state and national level. Across the country there is a high concentration of Black workers in home care and we want to increase our base of Black home care workers in WeDiB. Activity Engage home care workers to NDWA, and keep remote care workers engaged in national programming Coordinate and engage in regular meetings and programming Identify and engage home care workers in our federal and state campaigns IV. NDWA Responsibilities (10% of FTE) Participate in staff meetings and staff study Attend supervision for regular check ins Complete work plans and reports in a timely manner
