Salary: £42,221 - £47,940 Grade: Level 3 Zone 2 Location: 5 Pancras Square, N1C 4AG Contract Type: 2 Years (Fixed Term) Hours: Full Time (36 hours) Closing Date: Sunday 6 th September 2026 at 23:59 About Camden Camden is changing on the inside to make life better for everyone. Our residents and communities are at the heart of everything we do. We’re home to the most important conversations happening today and we’re making radical social change a reality, so that nobody gets left behind. Here’s where you can help decide a better future for us all. How You’ll Be Involved As a Tenancy Enforcement Officer, you'll play a vital role in protecting private renters across Camden and ensuring everyone has access to safe, secure housing. Working as part of a specialist multi-disciplinary team, you'll investigate reports of illegal eviction, harassment and housing-related discrimination, supporting some of the borough's most vulnerable residents to understand and exercise their rights whilst utilising the enforcement tool available to investigate offending. You'll work closely with tenants, landlords, letting agents and partner organisations, using your knowledge of housing legislation to resolve disputes, prevent homelessness and take enforcement action where necessary. This is a varied and rewarding role that combines casework, investigation and advocacy. You'll gather evidence, build cases against landlords and agents who fail to meet their legal responsibilities, and help drive improvements across the private rented sector. By taking a proactive approach to enforcement and tenant support, you'll make a tangible difference to residents' lives while contributing to Camden's commitment to tackling housing inequality and creating safer communities. All About You To find out more about what it is like to work at Camden, meet some of our People by visiting 'www.camdenjobs.co.uk/our-stories'. You are passionate about ensuring everyone has access to a decent, safe and secure home and are motivated by the opportunity to make a real difference to residents' lives. With experience in housing enforcement, tenancy relations or a similar regulatory environment, you have a good understanding of housing legislation and the practical application of enforcement powers, particularly in relation to unlawful eviction, harassment and tenant protections. You are confident investigating complex cases, gathering and assessing evidence, managing competing priorities and supporting legal proceedings where necessary. An effective communicator, you can build positive relationships with tenants, landlords, managing agents and partner organisations, while remaining professional and resilient when dealing with challenging situations. You can explain legal requirements clearly, negotiate effectively and take a balanced, customer-focused approach to resolving disputes. Comfortable working independently as well as collaboratively within a team, you are highly organised, adaptable and committed to delivering high-quality outcomes. Strong IT skills, attention to detail and a proactive approach to learning and professional development will help you succeed in this rewarding role.
