Territory Manager – Northern California Location: Fully Remote | Northern California — Sacramento, Bay Area, or Central Valley Travel: Significant travel throughout the assigned territory, with occasional travel to Tampa, FL Company: Heritage Insurance Holdings, Inc. — headquartered in Tampa, Florida About the Opportunity Heritage Insurance is seeking an experienced, results-driven Territory Manager to lead growth and strengthen agency partnerships throughout Northern California, with a focus on the Sacramento, Bay Area, and Central Valley markets . As a Territory Manager, you will serve as a key connection between Heritage and its agency partners, helping agencies grow their business while advancing Heritage's strategic goals. This is a fully remote position , offering the flexibility to work from your home office while maintaining a strong presence in the territory through in-person agency visits, meetings, and industry events. Travel to Heritage's Tampa, Florida headquarters will be required periodically for training and other company functions. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Prospect, develop, and grow agency relationships throughout the assigned territory through in-person visits, virtual meetings, phone calls, and email. Deliver compelling sales presentations to prospective agencies and agency principals. Analyze agency performance, revenue, profitability, and production data to identify opportunities and drive results. Provide agency owners with performance insights, business development strategies, and recommendations for profitable growth. Develop territory and state strategies in partnership with management. Build and maintain strong relationships with agency partners and internal stakeholders. Train and educate agents on Heritage's underwriting guidelines, procedures, products, programs, website, and web rater. Help agency partners understand Heritage resources and ensure alignment with company profitability initiatives. Monitor market trends and competitive intelligence and recommend strategies to strengthen Heritage's position. Conduct regular agency visits and maintain accurate documentation of agency relationships and activities. Manage assigned agencies, including new agency appointments, required documentation, call reports, performance updates, and agency terminations when necessary. Communicate agent feedback, product opportunities, and market needs to appropriate internal teams. Represent Heritage at agency meetings, industry events, trade shows, and conventions. Participate in sales meetings, training programs, and other company initiatives. Travel extensively throughout the assigned territory, including frequent overnight travel. Occasional travel to Tampa and other locations may be required for training, conventions, and company functions. Maintain professional and effective communication with colleagues, management, clients, vendors, and agency partners. Conduct business in accordance with applicable federal and state regulations and Heritage policies and procedures. Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned. Qualifications Minimum of 5 years of insurance industry experience , including at least 3 years of territory management or related sales experience . Associate or bachelor's degree, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. P&C insurance license, insurance industry designations, and/or prior insurance agency experience preferred. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and common business technology. Strong communication, presentation, relationship-building, and negotiation skills. Demonstrated ability to manage a territory independently and consistently deliver results. Willingness and ability to travel extensively throughout Northern California and periodically to Tampa, Florida.
