Territory Manager – Central Region
We are a New York-based apparel manufacturer specializing in high-quality varsity jackets, workwear, and custom apparel solutions. We are seeking an experienced, results-driven Territory Manager to manage and expand our established Central territory. This remote, field-based role is ideal for a motivated sales professional who enjoys building long-term customer relationships, developing new business, and helping customers find innovative apparel solutions.
Territory: Ohio, Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Wisconsin, Minnesota, Iowa, Missouri, Kansas, Nebraska, South Dakota, and North Dakota
This is a remote, field-based position. Candidates should reside within or near the assigned territory and be willing to travel extensively throughout the region.
Reporting to the Vice President of Sales, the Territory Manager will work closely with sales leadership to execute the company's sales strategy, achieve territory objectives, identify new growth opportunities, and deliver exceptional customer service. Working in partnership with the Vice President of Sales, this individual will develop and execute territory growth plans, expand existing customer relationships, identify new business opportunities, and contribute to the company's overall sales and profitability goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and grow an established customer base throughout the Central.
- Collaborate with the Vice President of Sales to develop and execute territory sales plans that support the company's overall sales strategy and revenue objectives.
- Identify and develop new business opportunities through prospecting, networking, referrals, and direct customer outreach.
- Conduct in-person and virtual customer visits, product presentations, and sales meetings.
- Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with customers by providing exceptional service and ongoing account support.
- Partner with the Vice President of Sales on strategic account development, major sales opportunities, customer presentations, and territory planning.
- Prepare quotations, negotiate pricing, and successfully close new business opportunities.
- Work closely with internal teams to ensure accurate order processing and on-time delivery.
- Achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual sales and profitability goals.
- Represent the company at trade shows and industry events.
- Work independently to prioritize travel schedules, customer meetings, account management, and territory development while effectively managing travel expenses and budgets.
- Maintain accurate customer records, sales forecasts, and activity reports using CRM software.
- Provide regular updates to the Vice President of Sales regarding sales activity, pipeline development, customer feedback, competitive intelligence, and market opportunities.
- Ensured high levels of customer satisfaction through responsive communication, problem resolution, and ongoing account support.
- Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and customer needs to identify new growth opportunities.
- Participate in regular sales meetings, coaching sessions, and professional development initiatives led by the Vice President of Sales.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or related field preferred
- 3+ years outside sales, territory management, or business development experience, preferably in apparel, wholesale, or a related industry.
- Proven ability to develop new business while maintaining and growing existing customer relationships.
- Strong understanding of apparel products, merchandising, wholesale sales, and customer relationship management.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize multiple responsibilities, and manage time effectively while traveling throughout the assigned Central territory.
- Willingness to travel extensively (approximately 50–75% or as required), including overnight travel.
- Proficiency with CRM software and Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
- Excellent verbal and written communication, presentation, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
- Valid driver's license and the ability to travel by car and air as needed.

Compensation
Base Salary: $75,000–$110,000 annually, depending on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and market conditions.
Performance Incentive: Competitive commission and bonus opportunities based on territory growth, new account acquisition, gross margin, and achievement of annual sales objectives.
