As Southeast Orthopedic Specialists continues to grow, we are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Test Scheduler to join our team. In this role, you’ll coordinate diagnostic tests for patients, manage authorizations, verify insurance, and ensure appointments are scheduled accurately and efficiently. You’ll be the key link between patients, providers, and facilities, helping deliver seamless care and a positive patient experience. GENERAL SUMMARY What You’ll Do Serve as the main point of contact for patients regarding scheduling, pre-certification, and authorization. Gather and verify patient, physician, and insurance information to ensure proper test scheduling. Communicate clinical instructions to patients and address their questions or concerns. Maintain ongoing communication with patients about their appointments and the scheduling process. Essential Functions Schedule diagnostic tests within the practice management system or at outside facilities based on insurance, physician preference, patient preference, and location. Accurately enter and update patient information, referrals, and coded notes in EMR and practice management systems. Initiate authorizations for tests according to policies and procedures. Respond to patient questions and complaints, resolving problems to maintain high patient satisfaction. Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA regulations. Perform all documentation of work completed and adhere to established timelines. Work on multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize tasks, and meet time-sensitive goals. Perform office-related physical tasks: sitting, standing, bending, stretching, and using a computer, phone, and scanner. What We’re Looking For High school diploma/GED or equivalent working knowledge preferred. 0-2 years of test scheduling or related experience. Strong communication skills with patients, physicians, and the public. Ability to establish and maintain good working relationships with internal and external customers. Knowledge of insurance plans and computer systems. Customer service orientation with attention to detail. Be part of a team that values excellence, teamwork, and your career growth.
