TFA Ignite Tutor (Work Study Required)

Department Overview: Teach For America is a national nonprofit committed to expanding opportunity and excellent education for all kids. Through the Teach For America Ignite program, we offer paid, virtual tutoring opportunities that let college students support K–8 students during the school day. TFA Ignite tutors help students build confidence, motivation, and academic momentum. At the same time, tutors strengthen communication, facilitation, planning, and problem‑solving skills while forming consistent, encouraging relationships with students in under‑resourced communities. TFA Ignite is offered during both fall and spring semesters. Anticipated Start Date: September 14, 2026 Anticipated End Date (If Applicable): April 30, 2027 Remote Work Eligibility Detail: All Remote Anticipated Hours Per Week: Minimum: 5 Schedule: Fully virtual. You choose a tutoring placement that fits your existing schedule. Sessions are built to work alongside student life. Approximately 5 hours pers week of tutoring and prep time. Salary/Wage Range/Lump Sum: Minimum: $20.00 Number of Positions: 20 Qualifications: -At least 18 years old -2.5 cumulative undergraduate GPA or higher -Able to work approximately 5 hours per week throughout the semester (~3 tutoring, ~2 prep) -Current undergraduate or graduate student with a Federal Work Study Award -Must be a citizen, national, or legal resident of the United States, EAD holder, or have DACA status -Uphold Teach For America’s commitment to people, community, and expanding opportunity -No background in education required—students from all majors and experience levels are encouraged to apply Knowledge, Skills & Abilities : TFA Ignite is a strong fit for college students who have already shown initiative and follow‑through in their academic, extracurricular, or community commitments, who are ready to bring that same energy to work with students.
