Title IV-E Medicaid Eligibility Specialist (DCFS), Salt Lake Valley Region FT / PT Status – Full-Time Salary – $19.24 - $28.86 Hourly Wage Remote Work / In-Office – Hybrid Recruiter – Tamra Alfaro | [email protected] | 801-538-4221 Application Deadline – 8/6/2026, at 6 p.m. This position may be eligible to work a hybrid schedule of both in-office and telework days. A position’s eligibility for hybrid work is established by agency management and is subject to change at their discretion at any time and for any reason. Move forward in your career by applying to become a Title IV-E Medicaid Eligibility Specialist for the Division of Child and Family Services (DCFS), making initial and continuing Title IV-E and Medicaid eligibility determinations for Foster Care children in accordance with Federal, State, DHHS and DCFS policy and regulations. Key Responsibilities Title IV-E Medicaid Eligibility Specialists perform the following tasks: Collecting and reviewing client information to determine client's/applicant's eligibility and options. Participate in Peer Reviews and state and Federal audits. Preparing and/or processing documents; reviewing for accuracy and completeness; updating information and/or evaluating against policy; comparing elements for consistency or logical relationships, etc. Referring clients to other available services to meet needs where appropriate. Consulting with Division staff regarding eligibility requirements when necessary. Maintaining and/or creating files or record keeping systems; sorting, labeling, filing, and retrieving documents, and/or other materials. Entering data into relevant databases such as EREP and SAFE. Qualifications Excellent computer skills, technologically savvy Skilled at data entry Attention to detail Organization skills Ability to weigh the relative costs and benefits of a potential action Strong oral, written, and interpersonal communications skills Strong commitment to customer service Preference Preference may be given to candidates who have: Professional work experience or knowledge of Title IV-E and Medicaid Two or more years' experience working in government or public programs Professional work experience and/or knowledge of Foster Care services And are current employees of the Utah Division of Child and Family Services (DCFS) Supplemental Information: All DCFS job offers are contingent upon passing a Background Screening Application (BSA). Physical Requirements Typically, the employee may sit comfortably to perform the work; however, there may be some walking; standing; bending; carrying light items; driving an automobile, etc. Special physical demands are not required to perform the work.
