What You’ll Do Perform quality control reviews of title reports, abstracts, and title curative documents Verify chains of title, legal descriptions, and encumbrance findings against source records Document findings clearly and return actionable feedback to title teams Track recurring issues and help sharpen title standards and checklists Support escalated or complex title reviews Partner with title leadership on training and calibration We’re Looking for Someone Who Is organized, analytical, and detail-oriented — accuracy is the heart of this role Applies standards consistently and documents findings clearly Works efficiently under tight deadlines and keeps multiple priorities moving Communicates feedback constructively — in writing and in conversation Brings a strong service mindset to every project team interaction Picks up new systems and software quickly Minimum Requirements Minimum of [5] years of title research or title examination experience Analyzing titles and title reports; Verifying property ownerships, mortgages, liens, and/or judgments against properties; Determining if restrictions, such as delinquent taxes, will affect titles and limit property use; Identifying key information about parcels and communicating such effectively to property owners Proficient reading deeds, legal descriptions, plats, easements, searching parcel data, and producing a chain of title Ability to read and understand real estate terminology Ability to ascertain types of title evidence required to obtain descriptions of properties and names involved Proficient with MS Office Suite — specifically Excel, Word, and Outlook Where You Fit This posting covers a single level. Fieldwork may require walking over uneven terrain, standing, or navigating outdoor environments, with routine exposure to varying weather conditions such as heat, cold, rain, and snow. The role also involves frequent interaction with a diverse range of individuals, including landowners, government officials, and members of the public, requiring the ability to communicate effectively and maintain professionalism across differing personalities and potentially challenging situations. Flexibility in scheduling is necessary to accommodate travel, site access, and stakeholder availability, along with adherence to safety protocols in both office and field settings.
