Summary: The Trade Compliance Project Coordinator position focuses on the efficient and timely movement of goods worldwide, with dedicated attention to our internal BETS customers. Ensures trade compliance and provides import/export administration and control within rules and regulations. Designs workflows and engages with cross-functional stakeholders to implement and maintain best in class quality services for our high-tech customer. Anticipates and acts as the first point of defence for any potential risks from project start till finish, ensuring a smooth transition between all parties involved in the day to day operations. Key Responsibilities: ● Build customer relationship and provide excellent customer service, understanding their needs and goals ● Lead and coordinate shipping efforts in a fast paced environment focusing both on our customer’s research and development and also for events showcasing the latest technologies offered ● Responsible for setting up a robust and scalable import process while working with key stakeholders ● Act as a subject matter expert on the customer’s needs and communicate effectively with relevant stakeholders to ensure continuous awareness and understanding of policies and regulations ● Working directly with the Trade Compliance Manager, helps to drive priorities and effectively coordinates the work distribution of other team members ● Ensure all systematic prerequisites are in place for successful shipment processing ● Conduct routine post-summary audits on CBP Form 7501 entries to ensure 100% compliance with U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) regulations. ● Confirm proper flags and data submissions for applicable PGAs (e.g., FDA, EPA, USDA, TSCA, FCC). ● Identify discrepancies between Form 7501 against commercial documents and coordinate with customs brokers to file Post-Summary Corrections (PSCa) prior to liquidation. ● Support the implementation of new business initiatives and their smooth transition between the involved Compliance Teams ● Own the documentation and tracking of project issues, action items and send follow-up as necessary to ensure project activities are completed ● Act as the main point of contact for business enquiries for the key customers and entities ● Facilitate smooth communications and information exchange between key stakeholders ● Monitor proactively for any potential risks and escalate as necessary ● Monitor compliance at all times to ensure 100% adherence to laws, regulations, corporate policy, customer policies and requirements ● Responsible for daily tracking of operational metrics and meeting SLAs, analysing the data and providing recommendations for improvements ● Provide operational leadership for the internal teams ● Provide training to the team members to help raise their expertise within the day to day operations ● Keep up to date on all regulatory requirements and procedures governing the import and export of goods, other government agency requirements, export controls and prohibited and restricted goods, data analytics, emerging tools, and best practices and proactively apply new knowledge to improve processes ● Other ad hoc duties as require Experience & Qualifications Requirements: ● Bachelor's degree or equivalent working experience ● 5+ years related experience in customs compliance operations, with focus on import operations preferred ● Understanding of international trade and supply chain operations ● Knowledge of the General Rules of Interpretation (GRIs) for tariff classification and U.S. Customs valuation methodology. ● Hands-on experience with Section 301/232 duties, and ADD/CVD case numbers. ● Proven track record of running and managing high impact and high visibility projects ● Ability to prepare and present detailed documented business cases to stakeholders and management ● Ability to define, develop & document business processes and procedures ● Excellent customer service skills, including negotiation, proven ability to listen, comprehend, effectively communicate clearly and concisely to obtain positive results ● Risk sensitive, recognizes when problems arise or are likely to arise ● Excellent communication and interpersonal skills ● Self-starter with the ability to triage and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment ● Time management, resource management, attention to detail, and persuasion skills needed ● Licensed Customs Broker (LCB) strongly preferred ● Having an accredited Project Management certification (such as Six Sigma, PMI, etc.) is a plus Personal Development: ● Meets company standards of 52 hours training per year per employee. ● Attend training classes when required. ● Complete mandatory training when required.
