About the Role:
As a Product Owner & Business Analyst, you will lead product discovery, requirements management, and solution delivery for transportation-focused software products serving the Oil & Gas industry. The ideal candidate combines strong Product Owner and Business Analysis skills with hands-on experience in Transportation Management Systems (TMS), logistics operations, and oilfield transportation workflows. You’ll partner with business stakeholders, customers, and engineering teams to gather requirements, define priorities, and translate business needs into actionable product plans. Throughout the development lifecycle, you’ll manage product backlogs, support agile delivery, and help ensure solutions align with both customer expectations and business objectives.
Qualifications
:
Bachelor's degree in Business, Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related field.
5+ years of experience as a Product Owner, Business Analyst, Product Manager, or related role
Strong understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies.
3+ years of experience supporting software products within the Oil & Gas industry, preferably in transportation, route optimization tools, logistics, or field operations.
Hands-on experience working with Transportation Management Systems (TMS), fleet management platforms, dispatching solutions, logistics applications, or related transportation software.
Knowledge of oilfield transportation workflows, trucking operations, fuel hauling, water hauling, equipment movement, or related logistics processes.
Experience managing and prioritizing product backlogs.
Expertise in requirements gathering, analysis, and documentation.
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Experience working with cross-functional engineering teams.
Ability to balance strategic thinking with detailed execution
Key Responsibilities:
Product Ownership
Define and communicate product vision, goals, and roadmap aligned with business objectives.
Create, manage, and prioritize the product backlog.
Write clear and concise user stories, acceptance criteria, and business requirements.
Make prioritization decisions based on customer value, business impact, and technical feasibility.
Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure successful product delivery.
Participate in sprint planning, backlog refinement, reviews, and retrospectives.
Monitor product performance and recommend enhancements based on data and user feedback.
Business Analysis
Elicit, document, and validate business requirements through workshops, interviews, and stakeholder discussions.
Analyze business processes and identify opportunities for automation and optimization.
Translate business needs into functional and non-functional requirements.
Develop process flows, use cases, business rules, and requirement documentation.
Facilitate requirement reviews and obtain stakeholder sign-off.
Conduct impact analysis for new features and system changes.
Stakeholder Management
Partner with business leaders, customers, and cross-functional teams to understand priorities and objectives.
Act as the primary point of contact between business stakeholders and development teams.
Communicate project progress, risks, dependencies, and key decisions.
Build strong relationships across products, engineering, operations, and business functions.
Product Delivery & Quality
Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and validate delivered functionality.
Ensure solutions meet business requirements and customer expectations.
Track feature adoption, customer feedback, and success metrics.
Assist with release planning and changing management activities.
Optional experience but extremely desirable qualifications:
Product Owner certification (CSPO, PSPO) or Business Analysis certification (CBAP, PMI-PBA).
Experience with Azure DevOps, Jira, Confluence, or similar tools.
Knowledge of cloud technologies, APIs, and system integrations.
Experience with data analysis, reporting, and business intelligence tools.
Understanding of UX principles and customer journey mapping.
Experience working in enterprise software or SaaS environments.

Salary is commensurate with experience (Insert Band) and paid twice monthly via direct deposit. Posted salary ranges are made in good faith. PakEnergy reserves the right to adjust ranges based on qualifications, experience, training, work history, and geographic location of the selected candidate.
