Job Title: Traveling Construction Materials Technician Job Description We are seeking an experienced Lead Construction Materials Technician to join our dynamic team. This is a traveling position that involves working on large commercial and industrial projects across our geographic footprint. The ideal candidate will have strong initiative and self-motivation, and be capable of performing routine to complex inspection and testing of construction materials in the field to verify conformance to construction plans and specifications. Responsibilities Perform routine to complex inspection and testing of construction materials in the field. Verify materials' conformance to construction plans and specifications. Lead and be a part of a team on large commercial and industrial projects. Travel extensively to various project sites across the country. Work overtime and adapt to long-term out-of-town assignments. Communicate effectively with engineers, project managers, general contractors, and subcontractors on site. Essential Skills Experience in construction materials inspection and testing. Certifications such as ACI Concrete Field Testing Technician I, ICC Soils Special Inspector, ICC Reinforced Concrete Special Inspector, ICC Structural Masonry Special Inspector. Concrete, asphalt, and soil testing expertise. Proficiency with nuclear gauge and radiation safety. Additional Skills & Qualifications ACI Concrete Strength I certification. ICC Pre-stressed Concrete Special Inspector certification. Work Environment This position involves working full-time in the field on large construction sites nationwide. You will interact with engineers, project managers, and field personnel from owners to general contractors and subcontractors on site. The role requires comfort in communicating with various teams and individuals on site. Travel is required for the project's duration, with arrangements for returning home on long weekends.
