Position title: Troop Support Specialist Department: Volunteer Services Status: Full-time, Hourly, Non-Exempt Location: Remote or AHG National Office, Cincinnati, OH Reports to: Troop Support Specialist Manager Works with: AHG Staff, Charter Organizations, and Volunteers Travel Required: Yes, regionally and/or nationally; less than 25% Pay: $18.00 per hour Position Description Exhibits Christ-like servant leadership while working with the AHG Staff and volunteers. Supports Charter Organizations, Troops Boards, and other volunteers to uniformly deliver the AHG Program. Provides direct service, coaching, and support to all Troops through phone calls, support tickets, and prayer. Specific Duties Administration and Resource Development – 25% Create and maintain necessary notes and reports for each Troop to ensure uniformity within the AHG ministry. Collaborate with the team to create resources to improve volunteer effectiveness. Collaborate with the team during daily huddles to creatively problem solve challenges members experience. Work closely with Staff, having a functional knowledge of the responsibilities of other departments. Complete daily, weekly, and monthly goals and tasks as assigned by the Troop Support Specialist Manager. Attend meetings as requested. Adherence to Employee Handbook policies. Participate in weekly vision casting meetings, daily prayer, and monthly bible studies. Other duties as assigned. Volunteer Coaching – 75% Pray for Charter Organizations, Troops, volunteers, and AHG Staff. Assist Troops through the Charter Renewal and member registration processes, and other functions with AHG’s membership system. Build relationships with Charter Organizations through the Charter Representative and Head Decision Maker. Support Troop volunteers individually by phone and on group coaching calls to equip them to deliver the AHG Program with excellence. Respond to Troop support tickets and voicemail messages in a timely manner, providing thorough and concise answers and encouragement. Provide AHG volunteers with training and communicate best practices to increase their awareness and understanding of the AHG Program. Equip and encourage Charter Organizations, Troop Board members, and volunteers to resolve conflicts as they arise using a Biblical conflict resolution model. Qualifications Passion for serving God in the AHG Ministry. Agreement with the AHG Statement of Faith; must exhibit and maintain a strong relationship with Christ and a positive faith attitude. Works towards and champions a healthy Staff culture. Understanding of the AHG Program and the needs of a volunteer. Minimum of three (3) years of AHG experience preferred. College degree is preferred, although not mandatory. Strong desire to make a difference and help others succeed. Self-starter, can work independently and remain focused. High level of integrity and confidentiality. Strong conflict resolution skills, listening skills, and coaching skills. Excellent communication skills including telephone, written and verbal skills. Excellent skills in time management and organization, with attention to detail. Openness to change and willingness to learn new concepts. Intermediate knowledge of Outlook, Microsoft Word, Excel. Professional demeanor in dress, attitude, behavior, and loyalty to AHG Ministry. Ability to, on occasion, walk long distances and/or stand for long periods of time and lift up to 25 lbs.
