Job Title - Ukraine Resettlement Policy Official Business Area/Directorate - RRA: Ukraine Resettlement Location - The role is hybrid and does not require you to be based in a specific SG office. Working Arrangement – This is a part-time job-share. Staff in roles compatible with hybrid working should aim to spend 40% of their contracted working time working in person at their contractual workplace. Sponsorship: Skilled Worker sponsorship is not available for this role. As a result, we are unable to appoint candidates who require Skilled Worker sponsorship now or in the future. Applicants must have an existing and ongoing right to work in the UK. Overview We are looking for a part-time (between 0.5 and 0.8 FTE) B3 policy officer to help us shape the strategic policy for Scotland’s Ukraine resettlement and develop actions to support the resettlement and integration of refugees and other forced migrants. You’ll be part of a dynamic team, working alongside another B3 policy lead. Part-time job share alongside existing post-holder, working on Ukraine resettlement with specific responsibility for visas and work with UK government, and on other areas of 'New Scots' strategy delivery commitments. While this is a job-share role, there is no specific required working pattern required. The role is hybrid and does not require you to be based in a specific SG office. We facilitate and support engagement between the Scottish Government, local government and the third sector, and we have oversight of governance, funding and performance reporting. Responsibilities Work alongside the other person in this job-share role to oversee the implementation of UKG's new visa extension scheme for displaced Ukrainians, ensuring that displaced Ukrainians, local authorities and public services are adequately prepared and supported Ensure strong connections with wider Scottish Government teams including but not limited to Ukraine Operations, International Relations, Asylum and Refugee Integration, Migration and Analytical Division. Produce high quality and timely advice and reports to Ministers, as well as briefings, events programmes, PQs, FMQs, MiCase and FOIs. Contribute to delivery of ‘Warm Scots Future’ strategy priorities to ensure support is available for those fleeing conflict and persecution to integrate into our communities in line with the New Scots Strategy. Collaborate with a wide range of internal and external partners to develop and refine policy advice – including local government and third sector partners, and UK Government and devolved governments. Support the team leader and unit head, by working flexibly and contributing to the smooth running of the team, Division, EIHR Directorate and to the effectiveness of DG Communities including line management responsibilities where needed.
