US Formation & Compliance Operations

About Lovie
Legacy company formation is a bug. We're debugging it.
Lovie turns legal infrastructure into software infrastructure — company formation, EIN filing, registered agent, and compliance delivered through an MCP and API. Founders spin up a Delaware or Wyoming entity in two minutes from their terminal. We're building the first bank-ready entity builder for the agentic age, and we operate on a culture framework we call Future of Work 2.0 (lovie.co/culture).
Fair warning: our culture page says "ruined for the ordinary." We mean it. Read it before you apply — it's the most honest job description we have.
The role
Two minutes to a bank-ready US entity is the promise. This role is the reason it's true.
Behind that command sits a stack of things software doesn't get to opt out of: state filing portals with their own logic, an IRS that still runs parts of itself on fax, registered agent obligations, franchise tax deadlines, banking KYB reviews, and a founder in Istanbul or Bangalore or São Paulo who has no SSN and no US address and needs an EIN anyway.
You've done this work by hand. You know which name gets rejected before you submit it, how long a Wyoming filing really takes in the week after New Year, what a CP 575 looks like when it finally arrives, and why a foreign-owned single-member LLC that skips Form 5472 is a $25,000 problem.
We're hiring you to encode that knowledge — not to click through it forever. You'll be the domain authority who turns formation and compliance operations into product logic, working directly with the founder and engineers.
This is a Türkiye-based role. That's deliberate: a large share of our founders are non-US persons forming US entities, and the operator who understands both sides of that gap is worth more than one who only knows Delaware.
What you'll do
- Own US entity formation end to end — Delaware and Wyoming LLC and C-Corp filings, name availability, certificates of formation/incorporation, registered agent, operating agreements and post-incorporation packages, foreign qualification when founders expand
- Own the EIN path, including the hard version: SS-4 for applicants with no SSN or ITIN, IRS fax and mail queues, escalation when the response never comes
- Run the compliance calendar — Delaware franchise tax and annual reports, Wyoming annual reports, beneficial ownership reporting where it applies, registered agent mail and service of process, and the tax filing obligations founders don't know they have (5472/1120, 1065/K-1, W-8BEN-E)
- Turn process into product. Every workflow you run manually is a spec. You'll write it down, hand it to engineers, and watch it disappear into the API. Then find the next one
- Define the escalation boundary — which cases an agent handles, which ones stop and wait for a human, and what the human sees when they do
- Own the exceptions — rejected filings, KYB reviews that stall, IRS mismatches, banks that don't like a founder's address. High-trust domain: incorrect is expensive
- Build leverage with AI agents. We expect you to automate your own queue. Every role here does
What we're looking for
- Real hands-on US formation experience — from a formation platform, corporate services provider, law firm, accounting practice, or in-house at a company doing this at volume. Portfolio of filings beats a portfolio of certifications
- Depth on Delaware and Wyoming specifically, plus enough exposure to other states to know what changes
- IRS process fluency — SS-4, EIN for foreign founders, and the failure modes
- Experience serving non-US founders. If you've walked Turkish, EU, or MENA founders through forming and banking a US entity, say so up front
- Strong written English. We're async and artifact-first. Your rationale needs to stand on its own at 3am in another timezone
- High agency. You see the problem, you propose the artifact, you ship. Nobody here will assign you a queue
- You use AI heavily in your own workflow — drafting, extraction, checking, automating. We treat models as operational material, not a novelty
- Bonus: paralegal or corporate-secretarial background; registered agent or CSP operations; fintech/banking onboarding experience; SQL or scripting; you've written internal documentation someone actually used
How we work (Future of Work 2.0)
Our values are LEET-AI: Leverage, Efficiency, Empathy, Transparency, Agency, Iteration. Each one maps to an operational behavior — if a value can't be measured by a specific action, we delete it.
- Non-linear workdays. We measure artifacts shipped, not hours online. Work when you're sharpest. Some US overlap matters in this role because filing offices and banks keep US hours — we'll agree on it together, not impose it
- Async and artifact-first. Even people at the same desk communicate through the shared artifact. Knowledge gets documented, not trapped in hallways
- AI-first. Every role at Lovie is expected to build leverage with AI agents. You'll never be the only "AI person" — you'll be one of many
- Transparency. Real transparency, operationalized — not wall art
- Distributed excellence. Remote-first, with an SF HQ (West Portal) if you want in-person energy
What we offer
- Meaningful equity — shared ownership is part of the contract
- Competitive salary, benchmarked to the work rather than the postcode
- Founding-team scope: the processes you design become the company's operating system
- Direct access to a repeat founder (4 startups in Istanbul, 4 in SF, exits to Gfycat and Gusto) and a team of the highest-agency people you'll meet
How to apply
Don't send a cover letter. Send artifacts:
- One formation war story — the hardest US filing or compliance case you've handled, in under 400 words. What broke, what you did, what you'd automate now
- One process teardown — pick any step in US company formation and write 300 words on what's broken about how it's usually done, and how you'd rebuild it as software
- Your CV and anything else that shows you've done the work
We'll respond to every application that includes real artifacts. We iterate fast — expect a decision in days, not months.
Lovie is an equal opportunity employer. We evaluate artifacts and agency, not pedigree.
