Youtube: Reality Defender Wins RSA Most Innovative Startup The UX Engineer Role. This isn't a traditional product designer role, and it isn't a traditional front-end engineering role either. We're looking for someone who can move seamlessly from customer problems to interaction design to production-ready prototypes — the connective tissue between product strategy, design, and engineering. Responsibilities include: Own end-to-end UX design and rapid prototyping for new product initiatives, from concept through implementation-ready design Build interactive, near-production-quality prototypes using React, TypeScript, or similar frameworks to validate ideas before full engineering investment Partner with Engineering to validate technical feasibility early and reduce handoff friction Help establish and evolve reusable UI patterns, components, and Reality Defender's broader design system Advocate for usability, accessibility, and thoughtful interaction design across the platform Work alongside Product Managers to define customer experiences before development begins Facilitate cross-team alignment by making complex ideas tangible through prototypes and visual storytelling Who you are. 5+ years designing and building modern SaaS applications Strong portfolio demonstrating both UX design and front-end implementation Expertise with Figma and modern prototyping tools Experience building interfaces using React, TypeScript, or similar front-end frameworks Strong understanding of interaction design, usability, and accessibility Ability to rapidly move from concept to prototype Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills, and comfort in a fast-moving startup environment Nice to have: enterprise software design experience, AI or cybersecurity product experience, familiarity with design systems and component libraries, user research/usability testing experience, or motion/interaction animation experience Within 1 month, you’ll… Be embedded within Product and Engineering workflows Be up to speed on Reality Defender's current design system, tooling, and prototyping stack Have shadowed the existing design-to-development handoff processWithin 3 months, you’ll… Within 3 months, you’ll… Have delivered prototypes for at least one key product initiative Have shipped a concrete improvement to the design-to-development handoff process Have identified specific opportunities to streamline UX across the platform Within 6 months, you’ll… Have a repeatable design and prototyping process running Have measurably reduced iteration time on at least one product initiative Have contributed meaningfully to the evolution of the design system What we offer.
