POSITION SUMMARY:

The Vice President, Originations is responsible for sourcing, structuring, and originating bridge-to-HUD and direct HUD/FHA Section 232 loan transactions across the West Coast, with a primary focus on skilled nursing facilities (SNFs). The role develops new client relationships, expands existing partnerships, and builds a consistent pipeline of financing opportunities aligned with the firm’s strategic objectives.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Origination & Business Development

  • Source, originate, and structure bridge-to-HUD and HUD/FHA Section 232 transactions across the West Coast.
  • Build and maintain a robust pipeline of skilled nursing financing opportunities.
  • Establish and manage relationships with SNF operators, owners, sponsors, private equity firms, REITs, brokers, and other healthcare real estate stakeholders.
  • Conduct market outreach, client meetings, site visits, and presentations to identify and secure new business.

Client Relationship Management

  • Serve as the primary relationship manager for West Coast SNF clients.
  • Maintain regular in-person and virtual communication with operators and sponsors to assess financing needs and advise on HUD eligibility, bridge-to-HUD strategies, and capital structure considerations.
  • Deliver responsive, high-touch client service throughout the transaction lifecycle.

Deal Structuring & Credit Leadership

  • Develop preliminary deal structures, pricing recommendations, and initial credit assessments.
  • Oversee screening analyses, financial models, investment evaluation materials, and credit packages.
  • Present transactions to internal approval committees and, as needed, external partners.
  • Coach junior team members on underwriting standards, credit considerations, and best practices.

Transaction Execution & Closing Oversight

  • Lead transaction execution from initial screening through closing.
  • Direct the work of transaction managers, associates, and analysts across underwriting, due diligence, and documentation.
  • Coordinate with internal teams, third-party vendors, HUD consultants, and counsel to keep deliverables on track and accurate.
  • Oversee closing processes, including approvals, document review, and coordination with closing personnel.

Capital Markets Support

  • Partner with capital markets teams on loan syndications, private placements, securitizations, and investor marketing.
  • Oversee preparation of marketing materials, data tapes, and investor-facing analyses.
  • Stay current on investor appetite, market conditions, and structural considerations for SNF-backed assets.

Leadership & Team Development

  • Mentor junior team members and set expectations for quality, responsiveness, and professionalism.
  • Promote adherence to underwriting standards, due diligence protocols, and execution best practices.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Real Estate, or a related field required.
  • 5–8+ years of experience in commercial real estate finance, bridge lending, HUD/FHA 232 structured finance, and/or investment banking.
  • Exceptional analytical, financial modeling, and credit evaluation skills.
  • Experience in senior housing/healthcare real estate and familiarity with HUD 232 programs and bridge-to-HUD execution strategies (preferred).
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex transactions with multiple stakeholders under tight timelines.
  • Ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage multiple transactions simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication and client-facing skills; able to represent the firm with credibility and professionalism.
  • Strong negotiation and presentation skills.
  • Experience coordinating legal documentation, third-party reports, and closing processes.
  • Familiarity with capital markets distribution, loan syndication, and securitization processes (preferred).


WORK ENVIRONMENT: This is a full-time, remote role with a requirement for the employee to reside on the West Coast. Incumbents may be required to work flexible hours or a modified schedule dependent on business needs.


COMPENSATION DISCLOSURE:

In accordance with California Labor law, we are committed to providing transparent wage information for all posted job opportunities. The wage range for this position is $120,000 to $200,000 annually is classified as Exempt per FLSA. This role includes a discretionary performance‑based bonus. Bonus eligibility and amount may vary and are not guaranteed. Compensation is determined based on factors such as Experience, Qualifications, and Internal equity.
