Job Description Apply now Vice President, General Manager - Aftermarket Job Posting Location: Grand Prairie, TX, Remote, USA, Rockbridge, VA Posting Start Date: 8/12/26 Req Id: 9609 Required Travel: 0 - 50% Remote, Onsite or Hybrid?: Remote For more than 100 years, Modine has solved the toughest thermal management challenges for mission-critical applications. Our purpose of Engineering a Cleaner, Healthier World™ means we are always evolving our portfolio of technologies to provide the latest heating, cooling, and ventilation solutions. Through the hard work of more than 11,000 employees worldwide, our Climate Solutions and Performance Technologies segments advance our purpose with systems that improve air quality, reduce energy and water consumption, lower harmful emissions, enable cleaner running vehicles, and use environmentally friendly refrigerants. Modine is a global company headquartered in Racine, Wisconsin (U.S.), with operations in North America, South America, Europe, and Asia. For more information about Modine, visit modine.com . Position Description This integrated executive leadership role is responsible for driving the dual engines of Modine’s high-margin, hyper-growth business units: Data Centers Americas Aftermarket and Systems & Controls . The leader in this position will own full strategic and operational responsibility for the lifecycle support of our data center installations (commissioning, maintenance, parts, retrofits, and service agreements) as well as growing the interconnection and system level controls of our products that powers Modine’s thermal management platforms. By combining these two business units under a single visionary leader, Modine will bridge physical field services with digital remote monitoring and advanced diagnostics—creating a highly differentiated customer journey. Make no mistake, this is a hyper-growth portfolio that requires an entrepreneur who can scale a robust regional service network while leading complex software and hardware product roadmaps. Key Responsibilities 1. Executive Leadership & Portfolio Management Dual-Unit Leadership: Provide comprehensive General Management for both the Aftermarket and Systems & Controls business units, leading them from high-growth expansion phases to operational and technical maturity. Cultivate Diverse Talent: Promote a culture of innovation, trust, and accountability. Coach and mentor across two distinct cultures: high-agility software/hardware engineering teams and customer-centric, distributed field service technicians. Strategic Alignment: Prepare and present combined annual sales, operating, and strategic plans to executive leadership. 80/20 Execution: Navigate ambiguity and rapid change while implementing 80/20 principles to focus resources on the highest-impact service products and software features. 2. Scale the Verticals & P&L Management P&L Ownership: Manage the combined P&L for Aftermarket and Systems & Controls, ensuring R&D controls software investments are balanced by predictable, high-margin recurring service and parts revenue. Go-to-Market Strategy: Define and execute the commercial roadmaps for both business units. This includes structuring service agreement, preventative maintenance contracts, and parts distribution channels, alongside exploring recurring software-as-a-service (SaaS) and remote diagnostic monitoring business models. 3–5 Year Roadmap: Establish market-leading positioning by outlining major service network expansions and technology development milestones (e.g., next-generation IoT gateways, diagnostic algorithms, and field dispatch systems). 3. Business Development & Cross-Functional Integration Strategic "Pull-Through" Partnerships: Secure early, large-scale national service agreements and enterprise controls contracts with colocation and hyperscale data center operators. Regional Collaboration: Collaborate closely with product business units (Chillers, Air Handling Units, CDUs) to ensure controls are natively integrated and service contract attach-rates are optimized during the initial equipment sale. Quality Leadership: Aftermarket is the last line of defense and critical leader to our preserved customer quality. Leading the aftermarket team to be a driving force on improving our delivered quality by collaborating with the product verticals operations and engineering teams is critical to the longe term success of our data center business. To add to the challenge, doing so in a hyper-growth market is no easy task. Ecosystem Expansion: Evaluate and build strategic alliances with third-party software developers, microprocessor manufacturers (such as Carel integrations), and authorized regional service providers to expand geographic reach and technical capabilities. 4. Product, Engineering & Service Operations Lifecycle Technology Roadmaps: Ensure robust cybersecurity compliance, flexible Building Management System (BMS) integrations, and user-friendly control interfaces. Service Infrastructure & Supply Chain: Direct end-to-end field service deployment, emergency dispatch protocols, training programs, and regional spare parts inventory strategies. Operational Excellence: Implement manufacturing best practices for controls assembly and logistics, while optimizing field service metrics like technician utilization, first-time fix rates, and parts delivery turnaround times. Required Education & Qualifications Education: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, or Business/Finance (an MBA or advanced technical degree is highly preferred). P&L Experience: Proven experience managing a $250M+ Business Unit or high-growth division with full P&L responsibility. Scale & Growth Track Record: 3+ years of experience launching, scaling, or restructuring a technical service organization, controls/IoT division, or industrial software business. General Management: 5+ years of general management experience in a fast-paced, high-growth environment. Technical & Operational Acumen: Familiarity with building automation, industrial controls (DDC and PLC). We're looking for a leader who can: Champion change and guide teams through evolving business landscapes. Build and foster a collaborative, high-performance culture. Successfully manage and integrate complex, cross-functional engineering and operational teams. Leverage a strong understanding of industrial service operations (field dispatch, contracts, and parts logistics), ideally with experience in critical cooling systems. Reporting & Organizational Structure Reports to: Data Center Group Vice President – Americas. Leadership Alignment: Active member of the Americas executive leadership team; collaborates directly with counterpart Vice Presidents/General Managers of equipment verticals (Chillers, AHUs, Modular/Indoor). Direct & Indirect Reports: Direct reports include Heads of Software/Hardware Engineering, Controls Product Management, Service Operations, and Parts Supply Chain. Indirect reports and shared resources span dedicated sales, finance, and human resource partners.
