The VP Group Account Lead is the client’s point of contact, overseeing their day-to-day account direction team and responsible for ensuring consistent, accurate, and responsive client communication, building solid client relationships, and ensuring their satisfaction in collaboration with the Strategy Team. This position works closely with the client to stay updated on brand goals and strategies and, in turn, provides oversight and direction to the assigned account management team. In collaboration with their Strategy counterpart, the VP Group Account Lead is responsible for the overall profitability of the account, including revenue generation through organic growth and expense management. They are responsible for liaising with the core account team and internal support teams to deliver quality work that exceeds client needs and addresses their business goals. What You’ll Do The VP Group Account Lead is accountable to the Executive Vice President Account Services, the Chief Commercial Officer, assigned clients, and the internal team. The VP Group Account Lead is responsible for client satisfaction, building their team to exceed expectations, and managing profitability while continuously fostering organic growth for The HWP Group. In addition, this role will: Lead and inspire a high-performing account management team, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous growth Build and strengthen trusted client relationships that drive long-term partnerships, client satisfaction, retention, and organic business growth Ensure client programs and projects are delivered with excellence - on time, within scope, within budget, and aligned with client expectations Provide financial leadership across assigned accounts, overseeing budgets, forecasts, scope management, resource allocation, profitability, and client financial communications Drive revenue growth by identifying and securing organic expansion opportunities across assigned accounts while achieving revenue and profitability goals Ensure compliance with client, industry, and financial reporting requirements, including aggregate spend reporting, accruals, and other financial obligations Assess team strengths and capabilities to optimize staffing, resource allocation, and project execution Mentor, coach, and develop the account management team, providing performance management, career development, and succession planning Champion operational excellence by anticipating challenges, mitigating risk, and ensuring exceptional day-to-day client service Foster cross-functional collaboration to deliver integrated, high-quality client solutions Lead strategic and tactical planning sessions, guiding the development of impactful client programs and initiatives Contribute to agency-wide training, best practices, and continuous improvement initiatives What You’ll Have 10+ years of experience in a medical communications or healthcare advertising agency, with progressive leadership responsibilities Proven success managing and growing client relationships, with a demonstrated ability to drive organic business growth Strong financial acumen, including budgeting, forecasting, profitability, and revenue management Deep understanding of healthcare industry regulations, compliance requirements, and program implementation Proven ability to lead, mentor, and develop high-performing teams Exceptional communication, presentation, negotiation, and relationship-building skills Strong business acumen with the ability to think strategically, solve complex problems, and identify growth opportunities High emotional intelligence and professional maturity, with the ability to influence stakeholders and anticipate client needs Willingness and ability to travel up to 40% What We Offer Immediate eligibility for all benefits, including medical, dental, vision, group term life, short-term and long-term disability Benefits 100% company paid 401k plan employer matching contributions Eligibility for company sponsored incentive plans Generous PTO, including a week off in December for the holidays Paid volunteer time off Tuition reimbursement On-site gym and other employee wellness initiatives Employee Assistance Program Comp pay or comp time for onsite weekend work Availability of cell-phone stipends, based on business need Leadership development training program and other career development programs Remote and hybrid work schedule options Office locations in Upper Saddle River NJ (HQ), Red Bank NJ, and San Diego CA Salary range: $145,000–$165,000 annually.
