Job Summary As VP of Client Engagement, you will drive growth by building relationships, creating opportunities, and winning new business for Ologie. Your focus in this role will be on expanding our work within higher education and other mission-driven markets, representing Ologie's expertise in the market, and strengthening our voice through thought leadership and industry relationships. This is a sales role with strategic weight. You will work closely with the Leadership Team and collaborate across disciplines to bring compelling, credible solutions to the right prospects. You are a relationship builder who closes. A strategist who executes. Key Responsibilities Build pipeline, advance pursuits, and close work that drives the agency’s new business revenue. Identify and pursue high-value opportunities with educational institutions and other mission-driven organizations to expand Ologie’s client base. Build and nurture relationships with senior-level decision-makers in relevant industries. Actively seek partnerships and collaborations that support business growth and strengthen the agency’s market position. Lead high-stakes presentations and negotiations to secure new business contracts. Develop proposals, RFP responses, and presentations, owning the details from scope and pricing through close and handoff. Maintain accurate CRM records for client interactions, follow-up tasks, pipeline progress, and deal status, ensuring seamless communication and reporting across teams. Partner with internal teams to develop tailored materials that support our business development and marketing efforts. Provide mentorship and strategic guidance to the client engagement team by developing team skills and offering support on key pitches to improve the team’s success. Represent the company at industry conferences and networking events to build relationships, identify new business opportunities, and stay informed of market trends. Contribute to Ologie thought leadership through conference presentations, podcast appearances, blog articles, and social media activity. Perform additional tasks and responsibilities as assigned, consistent with the objectives and scope of the role. Qualifications, Skills, and Abilities 8 to 10+ years of experience in business development, sales leadership, agency leadership, major gifts, grants, or client engagement. Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage senior executives and influence decision-makers. Proven track record of meeting or exceeding revenue targets in a marketing, brand, or creative agency environment. Ability to flex between player and coach roles, leading the team while remaining personally effective in the market. Demonstrated success in B2B sales, with experience in building and managing client relationships, understanding business needs, and closing deals within a professional services environment. Expertise in negotiation and closing large-scale deals, managing sales from initiation to contract execution. Ability to prioritize and manage competing demands and deadlines without losing the details. Proven ability to write compelling proposals, tailored to clients’ needs, in alignment with business objectives. Skill in using CRM platforms such as HubSpot to manage client interactions, nurture leads, track sales pipelines, and analyze data to optimize sales strategies. Deep understanding of branding and marketing, particularly in higher education, fundraising, national non-profits, health systems, or other mission-driven sectors. Ologie is a remote-friendly organization, with employees working from home, from our Columbus, Ohio office, or a combination of both. For this role, candidates must be located in the Eastern or Central time zones, or in the greater Columbus, Ohio area. The salary range for this position is $120,000 to $140,000. Your final salary will be determined based on your training, relevant experience, and location. This position requires travel up to 30% of the time, including overnight travel for client meetings, pitches, and industry events.
