Video Editor (Direct-Response) for US Marketing Agency (Remote)

Our client and the role The Direct Response Editor is responsible for transforming raw footage into high-converting UGC and narrative video ads for paid social campaigns on Meta (Instagram/Facebook) and TikTok. Working within DaVinci Resolve, Adobe Premiere/After Effects, or other professional editing software, this role blends technical editing skill with direct-response instinct — cutting for retention, clarity, and conversion rather than pure polish. The editor has creative latitude to apply their own style and pacing choices, provided the work stays within brand guidelines and receives sign-off from the Director of Performance Creative. This is a fully remote position supporting an agency's performance creative team across multiple client brands. This role reports directly to the Director of Performance Creative for creative approval, brand guideline alignment, and final sign-off on all edited deliverables, including implementing feedback and revisions relayed downstream in the workflow. Core Responsibilities UGC & Direct Response Editing Edit raw UGC and creator footage into scroll-stopping ads optimized for Meta and TikTok feed behavior Add subtitles/captions, cuts, pacing adjustments, and on-screen text to maximize watch time and conversion Produce 3–6 distinct versions per piece of raw footage — varying hooks, pacing, and structure — to support optimal batch testing volume Maintain an expected output of approximately 10 edits per week Deploy motion graphics, transitions, sound design, and music selection to strengthen pacing and brand feel Narrative Ad Production Edit narrative-style ads using AI-generated voiceover paired with B-roll, in line with the approved script Apply the same 3–6 version testing structure to narrative content as implicated by the script/creative brief Layer in music, transitions, and motion graphics consistent with brand and campaign guidelines Creative Judgment & Brand Alignment Exercise personal editing style and technique within the bounds of each brand's guidelines Submit cuts for review and final approval to the Director of Performance Creative before delivery Stay current on what performs on Meta and TikTok specifically, and adapt editing choices accordingly Collaboration & Revisions Work with the Director of Performance Creative downstream in the workflow to implement feedback Turn around revisions in a timely manner to keep pace with testing and launch schedule Stay flexible across brands, adapting to each client's distinct voice, guidelines, and creative direction Proven experience editing direct response / performance UGC or paid social video ads Proficiency in DaVinci Resolve, Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, or equivalent professional editing software Working knowledge of AI voiceover tools and B-roll-driven narrative editing Strong understanding of what drives performance/conversion on Meta and TikTok specifically (hooks, pacing, captions, native feel) Ability to produce multiple test-ready variants efficiently without sacrificing quality Comfortable receiving and quickly implementing creative feedback from a director/team Highly organized and reliable with file handling, naming conventions, and delivery deadlines Portfolio or reel demonstrating direct response / UGC / narrative ad editing required Fully remote, contractor role.
