Role Description The Vietnamese-English Interpreter is a full-time remote role responsible for facilitating clear, accurate, and confidential communication between Vietnamese- and English-speaking individuals. Day-to-day tasks include interpreting spoken conversations in real time via phone or video, accurately conveying meaning, tone, and intent in both languages, and asking for clarification when needed to ensure understanding. The interpreter will follow client and company protocols, maintain strict confidentiality and HIPAA compliance, and document sessions when required. The role also involves preparing for assignments by reviewing relevant terminology, participating in periodic training, and collaborating with the coordination team to manage schedules and improve service quality.
Qualifications

• Strong Vietnamese and English language skills, including advanced fluency, excellent listening, and clear verbal communication in both languages.
• Demonstrated interpreting skills, such as consecutive interpretation, accurate meaning transfer, and the ability to work in fast-paced, real-time settings.
• Knowledge of professional and medical terminology in both languages; prior experience in healthcare, social services, or customer support is highly beneficial.
• Commitment to confidentiality, HIPAA compliance, and ethical standards; ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and professionalism.
• Solid remote work capabilities, including reliable internet connection, comfort with phone and video platforms, and basic technical troubleshooting skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills, cultural awareness, and the ability to remain neutral, patient, and respectful with people from diverse backgrounds.
• High school diploma or equivalent required; a degree in languages, communication, or a related field, or professional interpreter training, is a plus.
• Availability to work full-time, manage time effectively, and adapt to varying assignment types and schedules.
