About The Role
The Telemedicine Coordinator at Marathon Health plays a vital role in supporting virtual patient visits from initiation to completion. This remote position involves coordinating and facilitating seamless virtual consultations by managing pre-visit preparations, verifying patient registration and insurance details, and assisting patients throughout the virtual check-in process. The Coordinator is responsible for preparing patient charts, managing virtual waiting rooms, launching Zoom-based telehealth visits, and ensuring smooth handoffs to healthcare providers. While this role does not require hands-on clinical duties such as blood draws or injections, a fundamental understanding of clinical workflows is beneficial. Success in this role hinges on excellent communication skills, patience with technology, and troubleshooting capabilities to resolve virtual visit issues efficiently. The Coordinator collaborates closely with healthcare providers and team members to deliver high-quality virtual care, support patient engagement, and ensure accurate documentation and follow-up scheduling. Qualifications
- Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Medical Assistant, preferably in Primary Care settings
- Graduation from a recognized Medical Assistant program or related healthcare training
- National or state-specific Medical Assistant certification or registration (as required by state law)
- CPR/BLS certification at the start date
- Phlebotomy experience is preferred
- Strong communication and troubleshooting skills
- Ability to work effectively in a remote, team-based environment
- Proficiency with telehealth platforms such as Zoom or similar tools
- Basic understanding of clinical workflows and documentation standards
Responsibilities
- Coordinate virtual patient visits by contacting patients prior to appointments and verifying registration and insurance information
- Prepare patient charts and gather relevant health information to inform providers
- Assist patients with check-in and check-out procedures within the virtual platform
- Manage virtual waiting rooms and launch telehealth sessions using Zoom or similar platforms
- Support patients during virtual visits, troubleshooting technical issues as needed
- Handoff patients to healthcare providers smoothly, ensuring all necessary information is communicated
- Schedule follow-up appointments and coordinate additional care or specialist referrals
- Review previous medical records and update health information during patient interactions
- Assist with basic clinical tasks such as taking vitals, preparing medications, and supporting procedures when applicable
- Ensure all clinical documentation complies with organizational standards and guidelines
- Engage in outreach efforts to improve patient engagement and adherence to care plans
- Maintain clinical and office supplies, ensuring readiness for virtual and in-person care as needed
