We are looking for an experienced and passionate *Chief Technology Officer (CTO)* to join our leadership team on a voluntary basis. This is an opportunity for an accomplished technology professional to help shape an ambitious technology platform that aims to create meaningful social impact through an NGO.

This role requires a commitment of only *2–4 hours per week*, making it ideal for senior technology leaders who wish to contribute alongside their existing professional commitments.

Your Responsibilities

* Define and lead the overall technology strategy.

* Architect scalable, secure and reliable software solutions.

* Provide technical leadership for Python-based application development.

* Guide server architecture, deployment and infrastructure management.

* Review technical decisions and ensure engineering best practices.

* Mentor developers and build a high-performance engineering culture.

* Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend suitable solutions.

* Work closely with the founders to translate vision into a world-class product.

* Help establish development processes, documentation and coding standards.

* Support recruitment and mentoring of volunteer technical contributors where required.

Essential Requirements

* Minimum *10 years of professional experience* in software engineering.

* Strong hands-on expertise in *Python*.

* Extensive experience with *Linux server administration, cloud infrastructure and server management*.

* Experience designing scalable web applications and backend systems.

* Strong understanding of databases, APIs, security and system architecture.

* Experience leading technical teams or engineering projects.

* Excellent communication and strategic thinking skills.

* Passion for technology with a desire to contribute to a meaningful cause.

Nice to Have

* Experience with AI, Machine Learning or Generative AI.

* Knowledge of DevOps, Docker, Kubernetes or CI/CD pipelines.

* Experience with AWS, Azure or Google Cloud Platform.

* Open-source contributions or startup experience.

* Previous experience mentoring engineering teams.
