Position Summary: The VP, Business Technology and Digital Enablement is Welch's senior technology executive responsible for shaping and executing the company's technology strategy in support of enterprise growth, operational excellence, and digital transformation. Reporting to the CFO and serving as a key member of the extended leadership team, this role aligns technology investments, capabilities, and governance with business priorities while ensuring the organization remains secure, resilient, and positioned to create long-term value. The role is expected to operate as a business executive first and a technology leader second - setting priorities, making investment tradeoffs, aligning resources to enterprise goals, and ensuring Welch's gets the right balance of internal capability and managed services. The VP also leads cross-functional governance with Finance, HR, Operations, Commercial, and the EPMO to keep technology decisions tied to measurable business outcomes. Where You’ll Work: This role will be based out of our Waltham, MA headquarters. Our company in-office schedule is designed to maximize collaboration & relationship building balanced with flexibility and well-being with 3 days in office and Thursdays/Friday being remote, flex days. What You’ll Do: Lead the Welch's IT Center of Excellence and establish priorities across all four towers : Enterprise Applications and Business Technolo g y Infrastructure, Service Management and Plant Tech Cybersecurity, Identity and Risk Resilience Data , Analytics, Automation and AI Own the technology operating model, annual budget, workforce plan, and managed-services strategy. Serve as the primary business partner to the CFO and executive team for enterprise technology matters. Partner with the Executive Leadership Team to identify opportunities where technology, data, automation, and AI can accelerate business growth and productivity. Guide value realization from recent ERP and other system investments Lead technology investment planning and portfolio prioritization to maximize business value and return on investment. Set governance for cybersecurity, business continuity, service performance, and vendor accountability. Chair or sponsor key technology governance forums with business leaders and the Enterprise Project Management Office . Approve major architecture, sourcing, and platform decisions in partnership with tower leaders. Ensure technology supports close, planning, plant operations, compliance, and commercial execution. Develop leadership talent and maintain succession plans for critical roles. Develop and maintain a multi-year technology roadmap aligned to Welch's strategic priorities. Act as an executive sponsor for enterprise transformation initiatives requiring cross-functional change management. What You’ll Need: Any equivalent combination of education and experience that proves competence in the role may be considered. 15+ years of progressive IT leadership experience with accountability across enterprise applications, infrastructure, and cybersecurity. Demonstrated experience leading technology organizations in manufacturing, consumer products, or distribution environments. Proven success partnering with Finance and Operations leaders, including ERP-enabled transformation initiatives. Experience managing a blended internal and outsourced operating model with measurable vendor performance expectations. Ability to communicate technology decisions in terms of business value, risk, and financial impact for executive audiences. Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Engineering, Business, or a related field; advanced degree preferred. Demonstrated success leading change, simplifying organizations, and driving disciplined portfolio governance. This range reflects the minimum and maximum base salary for the position across all US locations, is based on a full-time work schedule, and represents Welch’s good faith estimate as of the date of this posting. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
