About SeriesUp
SeriesUp is a team of seasoned finance professionals who specialize in working with early-stage, venture-backed startups to help them build institutional-grade financial operations and reach their growth goals. Whether it's navigating a seed round, preparing for a Series A or B, or managing a complex exit, our fractional CFOs and senior finance leaders bring real operator experience to every engagement.
We don't just advise, we embed. Our team works alongside clients as true stakeholders, getting deep into the business to deliver strategy and execution that moves the needle. Our team is fully remote, with clients spanning the country. Expect 2 in-person team meetups per year, plus travel for client meetings and board presentations as needed.
The Opportunity
*Update August 2026 - We are always accepting applications for strong candidates, but not actively targeting a full-time hire immediately.
This is not a typical in-house finance role. As a fractional VP of Finance at SeriesUp, you'll work across a portfolio of high-growth startups providing more career variety, faster skill development, and broader impact than any single company could offer. You'll operate at the VP level from day one, partnering directly with fractional CFOs, founders, and boards to drive financial strategy and operations across multiple engagements simultaneously.
You will typically manage 3–5 client engagements at a time, each requiring approximately 5–15 hours per week. Total expected commitment is full-time (~40 hrs/week). Client stages range from seed through Series B.
If you're a high-performing finance leader ready to leverage deep startup experience across a dynamic portfolio and be compensated at competitive market rates this role was built for you.
Who we’re looking for
Our ideal candidate is someone with an accounting background and recent experience in FP&A who is looking for the opportunity to work in a consulting role and use their skillset to help startups find their financial footing. They should possess a deep knowledge of cash flow management, budgeting, and financial forecasting. Their relationship skills should be above average with the ability to work closely across all levels of client partners. We’re looking for someone who is willing to work alongside clients, immersing themselves in the business in order to provide the best possible results as a stakeholder, not just an advisor. Startup experience is crucial, with firsthand experience building from scratch in an early-stage startup environment a major plus.
