VP of Research, Machine Learning

We're looking for a VP of Research, Machine Learning to lead the research direction behind the intelligence layer of this product.

This isn't an academic research role.

This is an opportunity to shape how an AI system reasons, evaluates itself, improves over time, and behaves reliably in the real world.

What You'll Own

🔹 Define the research roadmap across:

• Context representation
• Long-term memory
• Reasoning & planning
• Agent orchestration
• AI evaluation
• Alignment & safety

🔹 Drive the adoption of frontier techniques including:

• Retrieval-Augmented Training
• Mixture of Experts (MoE)
• Distillation
• Multi-Agent Systems
• Multimodal AI

🔹 Establish evaluation frameworks that measure what truly matters:

• Real-world usefulness
• Robustness
• Long-term behaviour
• Correctness
• Safety

You'll work alongside world-class product and engineering leaders to build AI systems designed for millions of users.

We're Looking For Someone Who

✔ Has built production-grade machine learning systems—not just research prototypes.

✔ Possesses deep technical judgement around model behaviour, reasoning, failure modes, and long-horizon trade-offs.

✔ Thinks like a builder—focused on shipping intelligent systems that perform reliably in the real world.

✔ Has experience with modern LLMs, agentic AI, retrieval systems, evaluation frameworks, and model alignment.

✔ Operates with founder-level ownership and thrives in ambiguous, high-impact environments.
