Accessibility Statement | NBCUnicareers The Vice President, Physical Production is responsible for leading and overseeing physical production activities for Universal Global Television, managing pilot and series productions from development through delivery. Reporting directly to the Executive Vice President, the role partners closely with studio, network, and creative leadership to develop accurate production plans, budgets, and schedules while ensuring productions are delivered on time, on budget, and in compliance with NBCUniversal policies and industry best practices. This is a fast-paced leadership role requiring extensive production experience, exceptional leadership skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with U.S. and international teams. RESPONSIBILITIES Production Leadership •Lead all aspects of physical production across scripted series, and co-productions from greenlight through delivery. •Serve as the primary production liaison between the studio, network, production companies, and producers, overseeing day-to-day production planning, execution, and logistics. •Oversee budgeting, scheduling, cash flow, tax incentive strategy, cost reporting, production financing, and risk management to ensure productions align with approved business plans. •Negotiate and oversee key production agreements, including below-the-line crew, vendors, locations, and production services, while ensuring appropriate insurance coverage and regulatory compliance. •Ensure productions comply with NBCUniversal production policies, health and safety standards, legal requirements, and industry best practices. •Coordinate cross-functional approvals and communication with Business Affairs, Legal, Finance, Insurance, Marketing, Publicity, Standards, Operations, and other internal stakeholders. •Confirm production companies satisfy all contractual, rights, permitting, release, and production obligations. •Work closely with Production Finance to develop cash flow and payment schedules, monitor production operating budgets, and provide accurate financial forecasting and reporting. •Build and maintain a network of high-performing line producers and key below-the-line talent to support current and future productions. Development & Greenlight •Partner with Creative, Finance, Legal, Business Affairs, and production teams to evaluate production feasibility and develop accurate budgets, schedules, and business plans for pilots and series. •Provide production expertise to support greenlight decisions and identify opportunities for operational efficiencies and cost optimization. Leadership •Provide strategic leadership across all physical production activities, driving operational excellence, consistency, and best practices across the production portfolio. •Lead, mentor, and develop high-performing permanent and freelance production teams while supporting workforce planning and talent development. •Build trusted partnerships across U.S. and international teams, production companies, and creative leadership to ensure seamless execution of global productions. •Serve as a key member of the studio leadership team, providing strategic guidance on production, financial, and commercial matters while fostering a collaborative, solutions-oriented culture.
