VULCURY Applied AI Research Intern Role Overview Vulcury is a venture studio operating across a consulting practice and a portfolio of subsidiary ventures, including Trustbridge (AI-enabled manufacturing supplier matching) and Calisade (research and investment). We are seeking an Applied AI Research Intern to lead active, hands-on exploration of the AI tools landscape and identify where new AI capabilities can materially improve our own operations, our subsidiary businesses, and the outcomes we deliver for clients. This is not a role confined to one function or one business line. The mandate is company-wide: this person will systematically survey the AI tooling landscape, trial promising tools directly, and bring back sharp, evidence-based recommendations on where Vulcury should adopt, where we should build, where we should partner, and where competitive or market threats are emerging that leadership should be tracking. What You'll Do Actively research, trial, and evaluate AI tools across categories relevant to Vulcury's operations — not limited to any single function Sales & Marketing: identify AI tools and workflows that could improve prospecting, outbound, content production, and funnel performance across the consultancy and subsidiary ventures Product & Development: explore AI-assisted approaches relevant to our development process, including tools adjacent to our AI/ML and matching-engine work at Trustbridge HR & People Operations: surface AI tools for recruiting, onboarding, and performance workflows that could reduce manual load without sacrificing quality Operations & G&A broadly: evaluate AI applications across finance, legal/compliance support, research, and other shared functions Client-facing opportunities: identify where AI tooling could directly enhance the quality, speed, or depth of work delivered to consulting and venture clients Maintain a running, structured view of the competitive and partner landscape — which vendors and tools are gaining traction, which are relevant threats or substitutes to our own offerings, and which are worth a partnership or build/buy conversation Translate findings into clear, decision-ready recommendations for leadership: what to adopt, what to pilot, what to ignore, and why What We're Looking For We hire against four core traits, regardless of prior AI-specific experience: Communication — clear speaking, writing, listening, and a sense of timing for what leadership needs to know and when Hard work and reliability — this role is largely self-directed; we need someone who follows through without close supervision Willingness and ability to learn — genuine intellectual curiosity and the capacity to quickly evaluate unfamiliar tools and technical concepts Positive attitude — someone who brings energy and options to leadership rather than just problems Beyond the four core traits, useful (not required) background includes: Exposure to AI/ML tooling, LLM-based products, or automation platforms as a user, builder, or researcher Comfort reading vendor documentation, product change logs, and technical write-ups quickly Interest in business strategy or competitive analysis, not just the technology itself Reporting & Structure This role reports directly to the CEO. Given the cross-functional scope of the mandate, this intern will work closely with functional leads across the organization (Development, HR, Growth, and Operations) as needed to understand current workflows before recommending where AI tooling fits. This is a full-time, India-based internship with a paid stipend. How to Apply Please share your resume along with a short written response (under 300 words) describing an AI tool you've personally used or evaluated recently — what it was for, what worked, and what didn't. We're less interested in polish here and more interested in how you actually think about evaluating a tool.
