Web Developer

Salt is a performance and creative agency based in Brisbane, Australia, working with mid to large brands across websites, search, paid media, content and design. Salt's standard is simple: world-class creative, commercial performance, and a team that is easy to deal with.

The website pod is growing and Salt is hiring a hybrid developer who is strong across both Elementor and Shopify.

The role

You will build client websites end to end from Figma designs, taking a design file and turning it into a fast, pixel-accurate, responsive site that holds up under real traffic. Some projects are WordPress and Elementor Pro. Others are Shopify. You will move between both.

Day to day:

• Build WordPress sites in Elementor Pro from Figma, pixel accurate across breakpoints
• Build and customise Shopify themes, including Online Store 2.0 sections and Liquid
• Write custom CSS and light PHP or JavaScript where the page builder stops
• Optimise for Core Web Vitals, page speed and clean semantic markup
• Implement on-page technical SEO fundamentals and tracking through GTM
• Migrations, redirects, staging to live deployments and post-launch QA
• Ongoing maintenance, plugin and theme updates, and CRO changes on live sites
• Work inside ClickUp with clear briefs, due dates and QA checkpoints

What is required

• Years experience building client websites professionally, agency experience preferred
• Advanced Elementor Pro, including custom CSS, theme builder, ACF and dynamic content
• Proven Shopify development, not app configuration alone
• Confident reading and building from Figma
• Strong grasp of hosting, DNS, SSL, staging environments and site security
• Excellent written English and clear communication in a remote team
• A stable, fast internet connection and a work setup you own

Nice to have

• Headless or custom theme development
• Klaviyo, subscription apps or feed setups
• Basic Google Ads and Meta pixel implementation
• Experience with accessibility standards

Salt runs a large remote team across the Philippines, Indonesia and Australia, structured in delivery pods with real process behind it. Briefs are clear, feedback is direct, and the work is held to a high standard. This is a role for someone who takes pride in the detail and wants their portfolio to get stronger every quarter.
