Purpose of the Role TEAM LEWIS is looking for an enthusiastic entry-level Web Developer to support the development, maintenance and optimisation of our global website. This is an ideal opportunity for someone at the start of their development career, with approximately two years’ hands-on experience in PHP and WordPress, who is keen to build their technical skills in a fast-paced global agency environment. Working closely with the development, marketing and creative teams, the Web Developer will support the delivery of website updates, landing pages, new features and ongoing improvements to the TEAM LEWIS digital experience. The role requires someone who is organised, curious, detail-oriented and keen to learn from more experienced developers while taking ownership of their work. Main Responsibilities Support the ongoing development, maintenance and improvement of the global TEAM LEWIS website, primarily using WordPress and PHP. Build and update WordPress templates, themes, reusable components and page layouts in line with approved designs and brand standards. Implement website content, campaign landing pages and regional site updates accurately and efficiently. Develop responsive, cross-browser compatible web pages using HTML, CSS and JavaScript. Assist with troubleshooting, testing and resolving website issues across development, staging and live environments. Support routine WordPress maintenance, including plugin updates, system updates and integrations, following agreed testing and release processes. Help maintain website performance, accessibility, technical SEO and security best practices. Work with the development team to test website changes before release and ensure a high standard of quality across devices and browsers. Use version control and follow coding standards, documentation and established development processes. Work collaboratively with Marketing, Creative and technical colleagues across the global TEAM LEWIS network. Keep up to date with WordPress, PHP and web development best practices, actively developing technical knowledge and skills. About You Around two years’ experience in web development, through commercial work, freelance projects, internships or a strong portfolio of relevant personal projects. Practical experience developing and maintaining websites using WordPress and PHP . Good working knowledge of HTML5, CSS3 and JavaScript . An understanding of responsive web development and the importance of cross-browser compatibility. Familiarity with WordPress themes, templates, plugins, custom post types and content management workflows. Basic knowledge of website performance, technical SEO, accessibility and web security principles. Familiarity with Git or another version-control system is desirable. Strong attention to detail and a methodical approach to testing and problem-solving. A willingness to learn, take feedback on board and develop within a supportive technical team. Able to manage assigned tasks, meet deadlines and communicate progress clearly. A collaborative approach and confidence working with both technical and non-technical colleagues. Good written and verbal English communication skills. Desirable Skills and Experience Experience using Advanced Custom Fields (ACF), Elementor or similar WordPress tools. Exposure to custom WordPress theme or plugin development. Familiarity with React, TypeScript, Tailwind CSS or other modern front-end technologies. Experience with website analytics, Google Tag Manager, CRM systems or marketing platform integrations. Previous experience in an agency, marketing team or fast-paced digital environment.
