About the Wellbeing Adviser role As the main point of contact for our students throughout the week—including evenings and weekends—you’ll provide an immediate response for those experiencing emotional, psychological, or mental health difficulties. This includes: Offering wellbeing support focused on strategies, action plans and practical approaches. Receiving and responding to reports of student wellbeing concerns or incidents, working to retain and support students while prioritising their safety and success. Carrying out risk assessments (e.g. harm to self or others) and acting appropriately within university policy. Liaising with external agencies such as NHS primary and secondary care services, local hospitals, police, and accommodation providers. Advising academic and professional colleagues on student wellbeing and appropriate support approaches. You will work across all University sites, supporting students both in person and remotely, with a rotating shift pattern between 8am – 8pm, Monday to Sunday. Experience of supporting people in crisis or with complex needs. Excellent communication skills and the ability to remain calm and empathetic under pressure.
