WordPress Developer Intern

Tech Pipeline helps operations teams find and fix the specific gaps in their business processes. We are currently supporting a Riyadh-based investment client as they refine their internal systems and digital interfaces. We are looking for a WordPress Developer Intern to join us in making their digital workflows more reliable and transparent.

About the role
At Tech Pipeline, we deal with the broken middle of business operations. For our investment client, this often involves WordPress sites that serve as important repositories for reports, data, and communication. These sites are not just marketing tools: they often represent a source of truth for different teams. When those systems have slow routing, broken plugins, or inconsistent data displays, it creates drag on the entire organization. We do not do high level strategy. We focus on the ground truth. Your job will be to look behind the dashboard and into the actual files and logs to find out why a specific process is failing. This is a fully remote position that requires you to spend time tracing errors and ensuring that the final handoff to the client is a system they can actually manage without ongoing help from us.

What you will be doing

• Reading server logs to identify the exact point where a plugin or theme file is throwing an error.
• Fixing specific routing rules within form plugins to ensure data reaches the correct database or email recipient.
• Performing routine maintenance and updates on the client staging site to verify that nothing breaks before going live.
• Auditing the media library and database to remove bloat that is causing friction during page loads.
• Writing technical documentation for every fix so the client knows how to maintain the system after we finish the project.
• Translating layout requirements into clean PHP or CSS changes without overcomplicating the existing codebase.
• Testing site speed across different devices and identifying the specific bottlenecks in the loading sequence.
• Reconciling data inconsistencies between external spreadsheets and the internal WordPress reporting dashboard.

What we need from you

• Basic familiarity with PHP, HTML, and CSS as they apply to WordPress themes and templates.
• An understanding of how the WordPress database structure works, including common tables like wp_options and wp_posts.
• A preference for following technical documentation and help guides closely before attempting a fix.
• Clear writing skills that allow you to explain what you changed and why it matters to an operator.
• The ability to work independently in a remote environment while keeping your progress transparent to the team.
• A logical approach to troubleshooting where you test one variable at a time until you find the problem.
• Basic knowledge of how to use FTP or local hosting environments for site development and testing.

Helpful background

• Previous experience managing your own WordPress site or a small project for a club or local business.
• Exposure to how financial services or investment firms present data online.
• Familiarity with common performance tools like Query Monitor or browser developer consoles.
