Workday HCM Configuration Lead

Key Information:

Location: Remote within Germany (candidates must be based in Germany)

Employment Type: Permanent preferred, although Fixed-Term Contract (FTC) will also be considered

Languages: Fluent German (C1+) and English (C1+) required

About the Role:

We're partnering with a fast-growing technology organisation that is investing heavily in its Workday landscape and is looking to appoint a Workday HCM Configuration Lead.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join at the early stages of a Workday implementation and become the internal owner of the platform as it continues to roll out across the business. Working alongside HR, IT and an external implementation partner, you'll take ownership of Workday configuration, drive best practice, and play a key role in shaping the future of the organisation's HR technology landscape.

This role offers a high degree of autonomy and would suit someone who enjoys building solutions, taking ownership and making a genuine impact.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the configuration and optimisation of the Workday HCM platform.
• Configure and maintain Workday Core HCM, Recruiting and other HCM modules.
• Support the rollout of additional functionality, including Talent, Absence, Time Tracking and Compensation.
• Act as the internal Workday Subject Matter Expert, providing guidance on best practice, process design and system capabilities.
• Take ownership of Workday business processes and ensure configuration aligns with business requirements.
• Partner with HR, IT and business stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into scalable Workday solutions.
• Work closely with external implementation and AMS partners throughout implementation and post-go-live.
• Support system testing, troubleshooting and continuous platform improvement.
• Build and maintain Workday reports and dashboards.
• Ensure high levels of data quality and system integrity.
• Collaborate on API-based integrations alongside technical teams and external partners.

Requirements:

• Proven hands-on configuration experience within Workday Core HCM.
• Strong configuration experience in Workday Recruiting.
• Experience configuring additional Workday modules such as Absence, Time Tracking, Talent and/or Compensation.
• Experience supporting Workday implementations or major platform enhancements.
• Strong understanding of Workday business processes and configuration best practices.
• Confident working alongside implementation and AMS partners.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
• A proactive, hands-on approach with the desire to take ownership of a growing Workday environment.
• Fluent German (C1+) and English (C1+).
• Candidates must be based in Germany.
