Symfony Developer (Full Remote)

We’re looking for an experienced Symfony Developer with at least 3 years of professional Symfony experience to join our engineering team.

You’ll work on the backend of a high-traffic platform, developing scalable applications, improving existing systems, and building new features that impact millions of users. We’re looking for someone who enjoys writing clean code, solving complex technical challenges, and collaborating with a talented remote engineering team.

Location: Full Remote

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and improve backend applications using Symfony.
• Write clean, maintainable, and scalable code following modern development best practices.
• Build and maintain RESTful APIs and backend services.
• Collaborate with frontend developers, product managers, designers, and other engineers to deliver high-quality features.
• Review code and actively contribute to improving overall code quality.
• Debug, troubleshoot, and optimize application performance.
• Work efficiently within a large and evolving codebase.
• Participate in technical discussions and contribute to architecture and system improvements.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of professional experience developing applications with Symfony.
• Strong knowledge of Symfony and its ecosystem.
• Solid experience with Doctrine ORM and Query Builder.
• Strong knowledge of MySQL and relational database design.
• Experience building and consuming RESTful APIs.
• Proficiency with Git and modern version control workflows.
• Experience using Composer for dependency management.
• Ability to understand and navigate large-scale codebases.
• Basic knowledge of Redis and Elasticsearch.
• Familiarity with HTML, CSS/SCSS, and JavaScript.
• Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
• Good written and verbal English communication skills.
• Ability to work independently in a fully remote environment.

Nice to Have

• Experience with Docker.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines.
• Familiarity with RabbitMQ or Symfony Messenger.
• Experience writing automated tests with PHPUnit or Pest.
• Experience working on high-traffic or SaaS platforms.
• Familiarity with Linux server environments.
• Experience with AWS services is a plus.
