About The Role : A Finance Analyst in the Finance Leadership Development Program will perform entry-level finance assignments and develop knowledge of Caterpillar’s procedures, philosophy, customers, dealers, organization, and financial practices. What You Will Do Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to: Our Finance Professionals deliver a wide range of financial management directions and services to a variety of business partners including suppliers, subsidiaries, business units, dealers, and customers. The Finance Analyst role will allow you opportunities in a variety of finance-related areas. Managing multi-currency cash flows. Managing foreign exchange/commodity risk. Execute an investment strategy for our multi-billion-dollar retirement fund. Analyze the financial strength of suppliers and work with our worldwide dealers to improve their financial results. What You Will Need Required Qualifications: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree at 4-year accredited university/college in one of the following degree programs: Finance, Economics or other Business or Technology major with a minimum 18 hours of Finance courses. Minimum 3.0/4.0 GPA (both Finance GPA & Cumulative GPA). Candidates must complete their degree before the hire date. Desired Qualifications: This position requires 12 months or less of professional experience in this field (excluding internships) Skills Needed for Success in Role: Financial Markets : Knowledge of the products, types, competitors, customer base, major issues and regulatory considerations in the financial markets; ability to apply financial market knowledge to various business environments. Financial Analysis : Knowledge of tools and approaches of financial analysis; ability to read, interpret and draw accurate conclusions from financial and numerical material. Planning and Organizing : Knowledge of the process of planning and arranging tasks and resources; ability to plan and organize both time and resources to get things completed while structuring and maintaining work in a systematic and highly methodical way. Communicating Complex Concepts : Knowledge of effective presentation tools and techniques to ensure clear understanding; ability to use summarization and simplification techniques to explain complex technical concepts in simple, clear language appropriate to the audience. Problem Solving : Knowledge of approaches, tools, techniques for recognizing, anticipating, and resolving organizational, operational or process problems; ability to apply knowledge of problem solving appropriately to diverse situations.
