About Bethany College: Founded in 1881, Bethany College is a dynamic liberal arts institution located in Lindsborg, Kansas—known as “Little Sweden U.S.A.” Bethany provides a transformative educational experience grounded in faith, learning, and community. The College is dedicated to cultivating leaders who serve and inspire through integrity, creativity, and purpose. Position Overview: The Admissions & Financial Aid Counselor independently performs and is responsible for marketing Bethany College to prospective students with the purpose of increasing overall enrollment. This position advises all potential students in matters of financial aid, student life, co-curricular activities, and general academic information. The role requires significant travel (minimum 40%) to assigned recruitment territories. Essential Functions: Recruitment & Territory Management Manage assigned recruitment territory, creating successful recruitment activities in specified geographic areas including high schools, college fairs, and alumni events. Participate in on-campus and off-campus event days. Host prospective students and their families on campus. Develop weekly pipeline reports to be sent to the Dean of Admissions and Financial Aid. Utilize Slate CRM system effectively in recruitment territory management. Student & Family Engagement Build strong relationships with prospective students by initiating telephone communication, text messaging, email, social media, and handwritten correspondence to prospective students and their parents. Articulate scholarship and financial aid programs to students and parents. Advise potential students on student life, co-curricular activities, and general academic information. Collaboration & Communication Work in collaboration and cooperation with other departments and academic divisions on campus. Use timely and appropriate judgment in upward communication regarding department concerns and responsibilities. Participate in team meetings, providing input and suggestions. Process Improvement & Evaluation Provide continual evaluation of processes and procedures. Suggest methods to improve area operations, efficiency, and service to both internal and external customers. Qualifications: Required: Bachelor's degree. Strong work ethic dedicated to completing the job. Excellent grammar, spelling, and writing abilities Microsoft Office, computer knowledge, and knowledge of office equipment Ability to communicate effectively to a variety of audiences, including students, parents, faculty, staff, alumni, administration, and the community-at-large Ability to handle multiple projects/assignments concurrently and be very results-oriented Highly motivated and works well both independently and in a team environment Preferred: Previous admissions or enrollment management experience. Experience with CRM systems (Slate preferred). Bilingual in Spanish is a plus, or some knowledge of the Spanish language is a plus Computer Competencies: Functional knowledge with Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office. Basic personal computer operation. Willingness to adapt to a changing technology environment (updates, security, and new versions). Ability to use multiple Internet browsers. Competent in email and document management. Requires good hand-eye coordination, arm, hand, and finger dexterity, including ability to grasp, and visual acuity to use a keyboard, operate equipment, and read technical information. Working Conditions: Regular and satisfactory attendance and punctuality. Employees will primarily work from the office at Bethany College. On location, work is generally performed indoors with ambient room temperatures, lighting, and traditional office equipment as found in a typical office environment. Evenings and weekends are required. Travel: Minimum 40% travel as required by recruiting schedule to assigned locations.
