Job Description Apply now Advisor, Human Resources Posting Date: 9/8/26 Location: Red Lake, ON, CAN, Job Summary Reporting to the Business Partner, Human Resources, the Advisor, Human Resources provides front-line Human Resources advisory and support to employees, supervisors, and site leaders across the Great Bear Project. This role supports employee relations, disciplinary and fact-finding meetings, investigations, attendance and performance management, policy interpretation, workforce administration, payroll support, onboarding, training coordination, and employee lifecycle processes. The Advisor, Human Resources helps leaders apply Human Resources programs consistently, address workplace issues early, and maintain a safe, compliant, and productive work environment during the transition from construction to operations. Key Responsibilities and Duties Provide front-line HR advice to employees, supervisors, and site leaders on policy interpretation, employee inquiries, workforce administration, and day-to-day employee relations matters. Support employee relations activities, including disciplinary interviews, fact-finding meetings, investigations, attendance management, performance management, accommodation and return-to-work processes, and related documentation. Gather information, prepare interview questions, participate in meetings, document findings, identify risks, and escalate complex or sensitive employee relations matters to the Business Partner, Human Resources as required. Coach supervisors and site leaders on performance expectations, progressive discipline, attendance standards, respectful workplace practices, and preparation for difficult employee conversations. Maintain Human Resource Information System (HRIS) records and support HR data accuracy through regular audits, reporting, and record maintenance. Maintain accurate and confidential employee files and records in accordance with Company standards and applicable privacy requirements. Support site payroll administration, including time and attendance review, discrepancy follow-up, employee payroll inquiries, and coordination with payroll resources to ensure accurate and timely processing. Administer employee life cycle transactions, including benefits, leaves of absence, employee status changes, onboarding records, and related documentation. Coordinate and deliver HR onboarding, orientation, employee communications, and training-related support. Assist with the development, implementation, and administration of HR policies, procedures, and programs while ensuring compliance with applicable legislation and Company standards. Assist the Business Partner, Human Resources and Human Resources leadership team with audits, projects, reporting requirements, workforce initiatives, and continuous improvement activities. Build and maintain positive working relationships with employees, supervisors, contractors, and site leadership to support employee engagement and a positive workplace culture. Attend crew meetings and site meetings as required to communicate Human Resources programs, provide employee support, and address routine Human Resources concerns. . Support Human Resources service delivery during the transition from construction to operations, coordinating with Talent Acquisition, Health and Safety, Security, and site leadership as required. Ensure strict confidentiality and privacy surrounding all company and employee information. Work in a healthy work environment with full support, cooperation, and commitment to satisfy our operation’s goal of being accident-free. Support a work environment that is aligned with Kinross’ Safeground principles. Comply with federal and provincial acts and regulations, and legal requirements. Adhere to all relevant Great Bear policies and procedures. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications and Skill Requirements Post-secondary education in Human Resources, Business Administration, Industrial Relations, or a related discipline, combined with 2 to 5 years of progressive Human Resources experience in a Human Resources Advisor, Human Resources Generalist, or similar role. Experience should include employee relations, disciplinary meetings, workplace investigations, attendance management, performance management, policy interpretation, payroll or Human Resources administration support, and direct support to supervisors or operational leaders. Experience in mining, construction, industrial, remote sites, or project-based environment is considered an asset. CPHR designation or working toward certification is considered an asset. Proficient computer skills and experience using HRIS, payroll, and employee data systems; experience with JDE and SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central is considered an asset. Strong verbal, written, analytical, and persuasive skills, with the ability to build credibility and interact effectively with employees, supervisors, contractors, and management. Working knowledge of Ontario employment legislation, human rights obligations, privacy requirements, workplace accommodation principles, and HR best practices. Demonstrated ability to assess employee relations issues, ask effective fact-finding questions, document matters clearly, identify risks, and know when to escalate to the Business Partner, Human Resources or Human Resources leadership. Comfortable coaching supervisors through employee conversations, attendance concerns, performance expectations, progressive discipline, and respectful workplace matters. High attention to detail with excellent organizational skills. Ability to identify, analyze, and solve problems. Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing. Capable of working with and understanding budgets. Compensation and Total Rewards The base salary for the Human Resources, Advisor is $80,000.00 to $100,000.00 + Short Term Incentive, + Group Benefit Coverage. The hiring range reflects our targeted compensation framework for the role. The actual offer will be determined through a comprehensive evaluation of each candidate's experience, capabilities, and potential impact, along with consideration of internal equity, team structure, and benchmark market data for similar positions.
