Medicines for Malaria Venture (MMV) is a leading product development partnership (PDP) in the field of antimalarial drug research and development. Its mission is to reduce the burden of malaria in disease-endemic countries by discovering, developing and delivering new, effective and affordable antimalarial drugs. MMV is looking for a recent graduate to join its External Affairs team for a one-year paid internship as Advocacy Intern in Geneva, Switzerland. We are particularly keen to hear from upcoming talents from malaria-endemic countries who are eager to gain meaningful first-job experience and are motivated to contribute to the fight against malaria. This internship is designed as an early-career development opportunity. Working full time alongside experienced professionals, the successful candidate will gain practical exposure to global health advocacy, stakeholder engagement, communications, policy influencing, event coordination, and international partnership management. The role offers a unique opportunity to build professional skills, broaden networks, and gain insight into how a leading global health organization works to improve access to life-saving malaria medicines. The intern will support a range of advocacy and external affairs activities while learning how a global health partnership operates. Responsibilities may include: Support day-to-day administrative and coordination activities within MMV’s Advocacy team. Maintain calendars, meeting schedules, agendas, and records. Conduct background research to support advocacy initiatives and stakeholder engagement. Contribute to presentations, briefing materials, reports, website content, and other communication tools. Assist with the planning and coordination of events, meetings, and partner engagements. Participate in selected external meetings and provide summaries and follow-up actions. Help maintain resources and online platforms. Support other advocacy and external affairs activities as required. We are looking for a curious, motivated, and collaborative recent graduate with a university degree in international relations, communications, global health, development studies, public policy, or a related field. Strong written and spoken English (working knowledge in French in addition is an asset), good organizational skills, attention to detail, confidence in using digital tools, and a genuine interest in global health and malaria are important. Previous work experience is not required but internships, student activities, or community engagement in the past are welcomed. We are looking for potential, commitment, and a willingness to learn. The internship is based in Geneva, Switzerland, and paid in line with Geneva's minimum wage and applicable employment regulations. MMV will cover relocation travel to Geneva and back, provide onboarding and orientation support, and assist the selected candidate in identifying accommodation options. MMV strongly encourages applications from persons with disabilities. We are committed to an inclusive recruitment process and workplace and will make reasonable adjustments where needed in addition to the accessibility measures, equipment, infrastructure, and support already available to employees. We believe that diverse perspectives strengthen our work and increase our impact. MMV will support the successful candidate in obtaining the required Swiss work and residence permit for the duration of the internship. Candidates should note that this permit (Legitimation Card) is linked exclusively to the internship at MMV and does not provide a pathway to permanent employment at MMV or another employer in Switzerland after the internship ends. To apply, please submit a one- or two-page resume and a brief letter explaining your interest in global health, what motivates you to contribute to the fight against malaria and how this internship fits with your career ambitions. Applications will be reviewed by MMV colleagues, followed by online interviews with shortlisted candidates. We are committed to a fair, transparent, and people-centered recruitment process based on human-to-human interaction. Application deadline: 31 August 2026 Start date: no later than 1 November 2026 Duration: 12 months For more information about MMV and its mission, please visit www.mmv.org . Recruitment agencies are kindly requested not to submit applications.
