AI Team Lead: Systematic Equities

The opportunity

Our client is building a global proprietary trading business on top of a proven, multi-year trading system. This role reports directly to the founder and has real authority to build the team, hire key people and set the AI/equities research direction.

Mandate:

• Research global equities, or focus on US or APAC.
• Lead research from data and hypothesis through modelling, simulation, portfolio integration and production deployment.
• Set standards for validation, data quality, costs and realizability, and work with quant developers and technology colleagues to make models production-ready.

Authority and profile

• Define the research roadmap and priorities for data, compute and engineering.
• Design the team, identify skill gaps and participate directly in hiring.
• ETF experience is relevant, but ETF-only experience does not guarantee progression; the core mandate is systematic equity trading.
• Strong systematic-equities experience with meaningful AI/ML ownership and evidence of research reaching production.
• A current Lead title is helpful but not required; exceptional Senior Researchers and Senior Quants ready to build a team are welcome.
• Mandarin is required.
• Must come from a top prop trading hedge fund firm.
