South Brooklyn Health is a redesigned health care campus featuring the new 11-floor Ruth Bader Ginsburg Hospital which provides emergency care, modern labor and delivery suites, and state-of-the-art surgical services. The new Health & Wellness Institute offers outpatient services from primary and preventive care, to specialty services for children and adults, all designed to keep our community healthy. The hospital maintains a strong academic affiliation with SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University and NYIT College of Osteopathic Medicine to maintain its high standards of healthcare delivery. Opportunity Details: Practice the full spectrum of Anatomic and Clinical Pathology in a dynamic, academic hospital environment. Interpret and sign out a wide variety of surgical pathology, cytology, and frozen section cases with a high level of diagnostic autonomy. Perform intraoperative consultations, autopsies, renal biopsy adequacy assessments, and critical result reporting while collaborating closely with multidisciplinary clinical teams. Provide medical oversight and consultation to the clinical laboratories, including hematology, urinalysis, body fluid analysis, blood smear review, and reference laboratory testing. Supervise and mentor Pathologists' Assistants, laboratory staff, residents, fellows, and medical students, with dedicated opportunities for teaching and academic involvement. Collaborate with laboratory leadership to support operational excellent, accreditation standards, and proficiency testing across the laboratory. Qualifications Active New York State Medical License Board Certification or Eligibility in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology At least 3 years of clinical experience Wages and Benefits include: Annual Base Salary: $270,000* (Board Eligible); $280,000* (Board Certified) based on 40-hour work week. Additional compensation available for extra call or sessional/per diem hours. The annual total value of compensation package is estimated at $392,520** (Board Eligible) and $403,520** (Board Certified), which includes the baseline salary, 401(k) contribution, sessional/per diem hours, and other factors as set forth below: Estimated annual compensation for 10 additional sessional/per diem hours worked per week is $55,520. Projected bonus of up to $40,000 (based on previous year’s average), contingent upon meeting quality and productivity targets. 401(k) Company Contribution (subject to IRS contribution limits): Employees are immediately vested in a 3% company contribution of base earnings. No employee match is required. After one year of service, employees receive an additional 7% company contribution of base earnings. No employee match is required. Annual Continuing Medical Education (CME) Reimbursement. Generous Annual Paid Time Off (PTO): Vacation, Sick, Holiday, and CME days. Medical, Prescription, and Dental Coverage: Top-tier plans with employee contributions significantly below market rates. Life Insurance and Accidental Death and Dismemberment (AD&D) Coverage: Equal to 2x your salary (up to a maximum of $300,000) provided at no cost to you. Additional employee-paid Voluntary Life and AD&D coverage is available for you and your family. Loan Forgiveness: Position may be eligible for loan forgiveness through certain state or federal programs. Medical Malpractice Coverage (equivalent to occurrence-based): Provided at no cost to the employee. Healthcare and Dependent Care Flexible Spending Accounts (FSAs).
