The Architect Engineer is a hands-on technical role that combines architecture, software engineering, automation, AI enablement, and cloud modernization to advance enterprise technology capabilities and governance. Primary Responsibilities • Develop and maintain architecture artifacts, reference models, integration maps, capability models, and solution documentation. • Analyze applications, APIs, databases, and integrations to establish authoritative current-state architecture views. • Design and implement tools that automate architecture discovery, governance, documentation generation, and compliance activities. • Support cloud modernization efforts, including migration planning, architecture assessments, and adoption of cloud-native solutions. • Build AI-enabled engineering capabilities that improve architecture insight, traceability, documentation quality, and decision support. • Partner with solution architects, engineers, product teams, and business stakeholders to identify technology gaps, risks, dependencies, and modernization opportunities. • Contribute to architecture governance processes, standards, review activities, and operating models. • Translate complex technical environments into clear architecture views and actionable recommendations for both technical and business audiences. • Evaluate system boundaries, source-of-record ownership, data flows, integration patterns, and operational dependencies across enterprise platforms. • Develop and enhance internal tooling, dashboards, automation frameworks, repositories, and knowledge management solutions. • Support CI/CD, DevOps, and engineering best practices to improve solution quality and delivery efficiency. • Create and maintain interactive architecture experiences, visualizations, and repositories that improve understanding of enterprise ecosystems. • Conduct current-state and future-state architecture analysis and help define modernization roadmaps. • Collaborate with teams to identify opportunities for automation, simplification, standardization, and reuse. • Research emerging technologies and recommend innovative approaches that improve operational efficiency, developer productivity, and architectural maturity. Required Qualifications • At least 1 year of experience developing software using one or more modern programming languages such as Java, JavaScript/TypeScript, Python, C#, or Go. • At least 1 year of experience designing, developing, supporting, or documenting application architectures, APIs, system integrations, data flows, and cloud-based solutions. • Experience contributing to at least one software project utilizing source control (Git), automated build/deployment pipelines, and code review practices. • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and systems-thinking capabilities. • Participation in at least one cross-functional project involving both business stakeholders and technology teams. • Strong written and verbal communication skills. Preferred Qualifications • 1+ years of experience working with cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure. • 1+ years of experience creating architecture diagrams, technical documentation, or solution designs using architecture modeling and documentation tools. • 1+ years of experience developing automation, developer tooling, AI-assisted engineering solutions, or productivity-enhancing software. • 1+ years of experience supporting enterprise application ecosystems, technology governance processes, application modernization, or cloud transformation initiatives. • Experience contributing to at least one architecture repository, knowledge graph, engineering catalog, or digital engineering platform. • 1+ years of experience developing software using one or more of the following technologies: JavaScript, Python, React, Node.js, APIs, or cloud-native development platforms. Anticipated Weekly Hours 40 Time Type Full time Pay Range The typical pay range for this role is: $79,310.00 - $158,620.00 This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors.
